"Enjoyed our stay. We were only there for a layover before our cruise so we didn’t really use the amenities other than the fitness room (had all that I needed to get a good full body weight workout done), and the Algortherm Spa (we had a couples massage -well done-and used the steam room there. The resort needs a little bit of a makeover. Honestly, if they just spruced up all the hallways that are brown/off-white with some brighter colors, I think that would do wonders. The staff experience was phenomenal. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. Friendly and attentive staff is what truly makes a resort wonderful, regardless if it needs a little refreshening."

"We booked a quick stop just to shower and cool off in the air conditioning between our ferry ride from Mo’orea and our red eye flight out of Tahiti. Thank goodness we didn’t have to stay the night! First off, Expedia mentioned that there was a free shuttle to the airport but when we got there the lady said there was no such thing and we would need to call a cab. We wouldn’t have booked at this hotel if there was no shuttle (misleading information by either Expedia or the hotel). We were hot and sticky and just wanted to get to our room so did not observe the lobby closely upon arrival. However, when we left we stood in the lobby and observed while waiting for our cab. Every lounger/couch cushion was worn to the point where the leather was separating. So we did not want to sit. While standing and waiting for our taxi, we looked up to see that the ceiling tiles were missing all over. Part of the ceiling was peeling down. You could see that at one time this hotel may have been nice. The room was not much better. There was an empty soap/shampoo container left in the corner of the shower stall and the tiles had not looked like they were cleaned for a very long time (grime in all four corners). The towels were yellow with stains/spots so we did not feel very clean. This place needs a re-do!! Obviously I was concerned by the ratings but we thought it would be okay to at least take a shower and cool off. I didn’t even want to sit on the bed."

"Our stay at Hotel Kaveka was made truly exceptional by the people, especially the front desk. We were so fortunate to be helped by Moa, who was a total wealth of knowledge. Instead of the usual tourist scripts, she gave us genuine, localized tips and clever hints that completely transformed our time on the island. The hotel itself is charming, with that authentic Polynesian feel you just can’t find at the big resorts, and the over-water dining view of Cook’s Bay is unbeatable. But it was the warm hospitality—and Moa’s expert guidance—that made this feel like a home rather than just a room. If you want a stay that combines a perfect location with a team that truly cares about your experience, this is it"
