I return to Velvet Hotel time after time. The staff are always friendly and super helpful no matter what time you check in or out. The rooms are unique with incredible decor - I look forward to finding out if I've been allocated a different room each time I stay. I'm not sure I want to recommend it too highly as it might be booked up when I want to stay next time!

A lovely room in a great location with extremely friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint was that through our window (which faced the canal) and wall, we could hear and even feel the music coming from the bar(s) next door. We got earplugs from reception which were useful - but if you’re a light sleeper, you might struggle!

Check in was quick, received an upgrade to a Duplex Suite, which I didn’t know until I got to the room. Hotel is well located, few mins walk from Piccadilly, and into the city. Suite was lovely. Had its own bar area, well Stocked fridge and snacks. Big bathroom with a great bath, separate shower. And an upstairs toilet next to the bed on the mezzanine level. The room was a welcome change the usual bland hotel rooms I’m used to in the larger chains. Will defo be back:

Location very central, and room was quirky and cool. Staff attentive. I'd say a bit pricey for a lack of amenities but that seemed to be the going rate for most hotels across those days

We only stayed for one night but the room was clean and conveniently located where we could easily was to Piccadilly train station and some nice restaurants. Just outside the hotel there was lively night life and yet when we turned in early the room was well insulated from the noise that it wasn't a bother at all.

The Velvet is pure class top to bottom. Rooms are immaculate and it situated in the gay village and super close to Manchester Piccadilly. The staff are so helpful and caring. They really looked after me. I love the Velvet hotel, I'm going to stay there again next year.

In the heart of the gay village, this was the perfect location for my visit. A safe and walkable to so many areas of the city. A vibrant nightlife just outside the door, yet my room was so quiet you wouldn't know it.

The location is excellent and all of the staff we encountered were lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately, the room itself was a bit basic. The internet was seemingly unavailable. The room was also quite small, could have been cleaner, and the bed wasn’t particularly comfortable. Before our stay, we also received several phishing attempts from people claiming to be the hotel. We were later informed that our reservation details had been leaked, which apparently explained how these attempts were possible. This was understandably quite concerning and impacted our overall experience. The excuse was very much, our management company data was leaked, as if to shift the blame / but ultimately if my details are leaked, it’s the hotels problems. The location and friendly staff were definite positives, but overall the room and the data security issue were disappointing.

Been here a few times and it’s been better. Was disappointed this time around. Things broken and reported but not mended. The lifts smelt of mould, the finish wasn’t great and the mirrors and sofa coverings weren’t clean.

Hotel is on canal street, so be careful if you’re staying Friday or Saturday… it gets very lively outside. We stayed on Sunday, was very quiet. The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was the best part, huge standalone bath and lovely walk in shower. The breakfast is brought to your room - it’s pretty basic, couple of dry pastries, two boxes of cereal and some weak juice. Bed was decent and the room was as expected. There are a fair few stairs and the lift is very rickety (and it really smells in the lift and the entrance hall to the lift). The staff were nice enough, nothing special offered - but nothing really needed from us. Glass of Prosecco on arrival was a nice touch. Would consider staying again - but likely go for something a little more central.

Amazing location and very welcoming staff. No issues with noise on the back side of the hotel and I loved the gorgeous large room with a glass canopy (complete with very functional shades). Only drawbacks were 1) the WiFi was rather weak and 2) the room could have used a bit more of a gay touch to the bathroom amenities (wink)
