Stony Broke Ranch private retreat, eight miles from Glacier

Our rental is a one level beautiful home, at the base of Desert Mountain, on a family ranch, established in 1955. Abbott creek flows through our ranch, and is filled with tiny brook trout. Our private location is three miles from Hungry Horse Reservoir, and eight miles from the Glacier National Park entrance.
We are nestled off of Spotted Bear Road, a quiet, and gorgeous setting on twenty two, private acres, with national forests hugging our property. Very private home, with endless natural surroundings.
Our floor plan is open, with a spacious professional kitchen, and large, comfortable living room. Twenty three foot ceilings, and floor to ceiling windows, to bring the outdoors in.
Walking, hiking, riding, and all wonderful outdoor activities await.
Horses, and many other wild, and native animals, give a great feel, and entertainment. We are proud to share our family ranch with you, your friends and family.
THIS HOME IS CLEANED BY THE OWNER.
CLEANLINESS IS OF TOP PRIORITY.
Additional cleaning supplies will be provided, for the use of our guests, for additional peace of mind.
We understand our guests want to feel safe, and comfortable in their home away from home.

Beautiful home and property only 8 miles to Glacier National Park. Very well furnished and organized too! We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub or around the fire pit after a long day of exploring and hiking.

Everything was superb. The home was beautiful, and the location unbeatable. Unlike most VRBO’s I’ve stayed at, this home felt loved and not sterile. Melissa thought of everything with lots of little perks that make it feel just like home. Only 14 minutes to West Glacier entrance. Hosts communicated whenever needed. Thank you Melissa and Beau!

Amazing lodging in west side

The property was extremely well maintained. We enjoyed the spa, grill, gourmet kitchen, and ease of access to glacier. Kids had a fantastic time. It was everything we wanted and more.

Beautiful Cabin

We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was very clean and the host provided many extras such as bear spray and coolers. Everything is organized and labeled. The views from the property are beautiful and we watched deer every morning. Highly recommend this property!

West glacier getaway

I can’t say enough positive things about this VRBO. The home has everything for a comfortable stay close to the west entrance. The owner thought of everything and the home was so clean. The beds are very comfortable and we enjoyed watching the deer every night right outside.

This house is AWESOME!!! The hosts have made this house a "snuggle in and be comfortable and feel welcome home ". I cant say enough about how warm, welcoming, and stocked with all kinds of helpful little items. My husband and I truly enjoyed staying here.

The house is wonderful. It is literally a 15 minute drive from Glacier National Park. The two bedrooms and bathrooms are on opposite ends of the house and there is a great room in the middle. Our host was magnificent. The house was impeccably clean. There were plenty of spices and cooking essentials; she even made me a special blend of herbs which I cherished. The hot tub is great with lots of bubbles. The fire pit comes pre-stocked with logs and kindling. We had a problem with the Internet when we were there and it was literally fixed within the hour. Also an important tip: There is no need to drive down to Kalispell to pick up good groceries, meats, and vegetables. Instead, there is a Super 1 Food Store in Columbia Falls on the way from the Airport to this location. You can stock up on everything there and save yourself a round trip to downtown Kalispell. Highly recommend this house!

A Beautiful Hideaway just outside of Glacier

We were blown away by Melissa‘s attention to detail in her beautiful home. She really has thought of everything from labels on the drawers to bear spray to Bluetooth speakers this place has it all! It is sparkling, clean and very well appointed. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a day of hiking in this private oasis. In short, this has been the absolute best experience we’ve ever had in a VRBO!

Perfect home base for Glacier

Stony Broke Ranch was a perfect home base for our adventures in Glacier. Easy access to the park entrance, and the house was perfect. Everything was as listed, extremely clean, and very organized. If we make it back to Glacier, no doubt we will be visiting Stony Broke Ranch again.

Peaceful, really beautiful property

We loved our five nights at Stony Broke Ranch. The house is gorgeous and situated in a very serene setting. The host has thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and effortless, with heavenly beds, a well equipped kitchen, and cozy seating in the living room. And everything is spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed the views of the mountains, trees, and the horses on the ranch, along with all the deer that came by. Our thanks to the host.

Glacier National Park Vacation

On vacation with friends to Glacier National Park. We chose this cabin due to proximity to the park, but we were blown away by the cleanliness, organization, and overall beauty of the cabin and property. We were made to feel very welcome when we checked in by the amenities provided by the hosts. My friends and I were so impressed by the cabin that we purchased some of the products used for our own homes. Highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to visit GNP…you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing Home & Host

My wife and I booked the Stoney Brook Ranch for a long weekend with my parents. It was truly an unbelievable experience for us all. Melissa was incredibly helpful and the home had every amenity we needed. It was the perfect location for us to get to Whitefish and to Glacier National Park for our adventures. We loved the peaceful setting of the home - as well as the hospitality of our host. We will cherish the memories we made here forever.

Loved it

Clean, great location to anything you’d want to get to, great layout of home with furniture and beds you actually want to sit and sleep on. The kitchen is very open and completely stocked, makes it very easy for cooking meals or doing quick meals on the go. All of this makes it easy with children. Will absolutely come back, and I have to mention the cleanliness one more time. Finally, the hosts are incredibly nice and accommodating, really makes the whole stay as great as it is.

Spectacular home and views - minutes from Glacier!

This is truly a spectacular home! Melissa has thought of everything - making her home feel like home! The gorgeous living room with amazing views of the ranch and mountains. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need to cook. The beds, bedding and pillows are extremely high quality. Loved coming home after a long day adventuring in Glacier to relax in the front yard with breathtaking views of the ranch and mountains. This far exceeded our expectations and we cannot wait to come back!!

Our group of 4 adults stayed 5 nights in September 2025. If you're planning a trip to the Glacier National park area and want a secluded location with comfortable amenities close to the park - this is perfect! The pictures don't do the property justice. The rooms and spaces are bigger than the pictures make it seem. The house was the best equipped we have stayed in - it had everything including coolers for trips in to the park. The property is down a well-kept gravel driveway, secluded from neighbors. You'll get to see neighboring horses on your drive in and out of the property. The beds were so comfortable! The kitchen had more than you would need during your stay including bathrobes and even some boots! Every time we thought - I wonder if they have any.... - they did! High end appliances. The two king bedrooms were on opposite ends of the house across the living area from each other which was perfect for our trip with two couples. Melissa was quick to respond to questions and was able to help when I messed up on our check out date. The property is quiet and secluded - but still within 20 minutes of restaurants and the park. I do hope we get to stay here again!

Glacier Trip June 2024

Excellent property and Outstanding Hosts. Beautiful home in country away from crouds surrounded by trees and views of mountains. Home was fully stocked with high end appliances and every cooking tool imaginable. Excellent beds and linens. Nice hot tube . Deer and elk visited frequently. Hosts were friendly, accommodating and very nice people. Couldn't be more satisfied. Highly recommended for those that want a pieceful location out of town but close to park and everything else

Amazing Stay!

This house and location was absolutely perfect for our vacation with friends. Th home has a great layout for two couples traveling together. The distance into town for groceries and shopping in Whitefish - to exploring and hiking through Glacier National Park was also perfect. The home was spotless and has every amenity needed. It was so nice to not have to buy the little things needed for our week's stay. We ended every evening on the lawn under the stars and we can't thank Melissa and her husband enough for sharing their beautiful property. We hope to make it back someday!

Stoney Broke Ranch Paradise

Absolute paradise in the wild! We loved our family stay at Stoney Broke Ranch. Melissa is an excellent host that has thought of every detail to ensure a comfortable stay at the ranch. If you are looking for a private & luxurious stay in the mountains.. look no further! We enjoyed the spacious kitchen stocked with everything imaginable to prepare a great meal at home. Every night we enjoyed the outdoor areas to watch the sunset & take in the peaceful surroundings. The location was perfect .. very close the West entrance to Glacier & nearby towns like Whitefish & Big Fork. Thank you for a fabulous vacation. We cannot wait to come back!

AMAZING Home!

Our stay at this custom home in West Glacier was absolutely incredible! Every detail was carefully thought out, and everything we could possibly need was readily available and easy to find. Melissa truly doesn’t skip a beat in ensuring her guests have everything they need for a perfect stay. The home is beautifully decorated with a flawless layout, and the location was so perfect to access the West Glacier entrance. The bathroom products were a great touch, and the beds were so very comfortable. We also loved the gas grill and had a blast soaking in the hot tub while stargazing. My husband described the home as 'baller,' and we definitely loved every bit of our stay. We’d recommend it to anyone and can’t wait to return. Thanks for having us!

Perfect Glacier home away from home

I cannot say enough about this beautiful home! It is remote and very private, but only 15 mins to the West Glacier park entrance and the perfect place from which to explore from Whitefish to the GTTSR to the Northfork area and more. The kitchen is well equipped to cook even elaborate meals (stocked with great cookware, spices, etc) The entire home is organized and stocked to make you feel at home (or better!) Melissa has thought of everything. I have stayed in many homes and this is one of the best that we have been blessed to be able to share for a little while!

Perfection

Stony Broke Ranch was amazing as was our host, Melissa. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. Melissa provided many little extras (craft soaps!), including every kitchen amenity you could imagine. It was such a pleasure to come back to the house after adventuring in the park all day, to grill trout dinners, watch the sunset and wait for the stars to light up the amazingly dark skies above. We have stayed in many rental properties over the years and Stony Broke Ranch is definitely one of our favorites.

AMAZING!!

We stayed for 7 days with our son and daughter in law to hike GNP --- Melissa, Beau and Family were so friendly and communicating with them was so easy. Their home is absolutely AMAZING!! it was so clean, well laid out and stocked with everything we needed. It's so incredibly beautiful!! All cabinets are marked so you are not searching for what you are looking for. The tall windows in the living room are awesome as you can watch the night sky with all the bright stars.
