Peace and Serenity
This is my all-time favorite place to stay! The views from the house and the peaceful setting are 2nd to none. I would highly recommend. This was the perfect place for a group of golfers to be while not on the golf course!

A welcoming family gathering place

Relaxation with beautiful views
We had a great time at the Albaugh Family Guest House. This was everything we needed for a nice, relaxing golf vacation. Plenty of space for our group of 6 golfers and could have easily accomodated a couple more. I especially loved enjoying my morning cup of coffee while admiring the views of the valley below.

Great location
We loved the view from the house. Green pasture and cows surrounded by hills and mountains. We also really enjoyed the two very friendly barn cats. The kitchen is well stocked. The house and furniture are dated and have seen better days. But everything worked. The owner, Elena, was very responsive.

Fishing and relaxing in McArthur
We four adults thoroughly enjoyed the Albaugh ranch house. The kitchen is thoroughly stocked with cooking supplies and equipment. The views from the ranch house are outstanding. Fishing on the Pit River at this time of year is fantastic and the house is centrally located for other outings such as McArthur Burney Falls Park. I would definitely stay here again.

Great for family trips
Second time staying was just as good as first. The house has everything you need and the view is amazing. Super clean and owners live just down the road so check in easy. Will definitely be back.

Amazing views
Amazing views of the cattle ranch and mountains. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook- utensils, pots and pans and dish ware. The tube tv in the photos has been updated to a flat screen. The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Great history and spectacular views
Very comfortable house with lots of great history. We enjoyed some of the books which shared a few stories about the history of the family. I thoroughly enjoyed the view each morning. Lots of room comfortably slept all 8 of us with room for more.

Beautiful property close to great outdoor spots
We really enjoyed our stay here. Starting from having the morning coffee near the big windows in the living room and taking in the view of the mountains. Very picturesque setting. We also checked out Lassen National Park and Mt Shasta and the location is perfectly in the middle for both. The host was also very responsive. Overall, it was an amazing winter gateway.

The owner, Elena, was helpful and responsive to my questions. This quiet, peaceful property is a working cattle ranch in a beautiful, green valley. Because of the smoke from California fires, we were unable to enjoy the view of Mt. Lassen, however the views from the house on the hill are amazing. Just seeing the young calves play together in the field across the street was fun. The house itself easily sleeps a dozen, but because there were only 3 of us we had more than enough room to spread out. After the long drive to get there, the jacuzzi tub in the main bathroom relaxed my road-weary muscles. I would recommend this house for anyone who wishes to get away from it all, those with large families, perhaps a girlfriend getaway, or even a hand-crafter's retreat.

Incredible setting..photos do not do the property justice
Rented this house for a weekend get away to reunite with family after Covid quarantine. Had kids and grandkids there. This place was amazing and perfect for us. Incredible views from inside and outside the house. Every evening we sat under the trees, which are lit up with lights, and watched the sunset, beautiful lawn area. Outdoor chairs are provided. In addition they also had games for the kids, a porta crib for the baby, which we didnt expect. Met the owner of the property, Steve, who lives down the street. Very nice and gave us history of the home. We would definitely visit again.

Excellent staycation!
Our family LOVED our time at the ranch. The home was perfect - spacious, clean, comfortable, and with incredible views. We have recommended this space to so many friends and family already. Elena was an excellent host - easy to contact and close by - she even mailed back some items that we had accidentally left behind!

Great stay
We had a wonderful stay at the Albaugh Guest House. The property was close to McArthur, easy to find, and a quick drive to our favorite fishing and hiking spots in the area. The house was very generously sized, homey, and comfortable. We loved admiring all of the historical family photos and artwork. We were a group of 4, so only used about half the house; a larger group would also be very comfortable here. The property is beautiful as well - wonderful views of the surrounding ranch lands and mountains. The kitchen was well-equipped. The laundry room was definitely a plus during a heat wave (AC too!). Check-in and check-out were seamless. Great value; would definitely stay here again.

Could of not been better. The home was comfy and the views were awesome. I would recommend this for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with all supplies needed for our needs. We were visiting for a wedding and had to prepare a lot of appetizers and food preparation was a breeze. Plenty of beds and gorgeous views from every window. Well manicured lawns and flowers, even had a giant sequoia in the parking area. At night the walnut tree and patio light up for a relaxing evening.

Awesome house and nice owner
The house is located in a beautiful setting with views of Mt Lassen peak from the house. The property is well maintained, clean and full with amenities. Lot of patio space for kids to run around. You will enjoy beautiful sunset everyday. We plan to stay one more night, and, unfortunately, due to thunderstorm the pumping well could not work and we had to leave. The owner was super nice and brought water for us. The owner promptly refunded the money for one night that we had to leave.

Fantastic get away!
First impressions are important and this house Did not disappoint! Driving up, I was impressed with the lush, green, well manicured lawn which contrasted nicely with the white fence. Once inside the house, I was drawn to the front windows. From there, because the house is positioned on a hill top, the view was beautiful! Visibility seemed endless. I could clearly see snow-capped Mt. Lassen and Mt. Burney. Picturesque scenery aside, the home is very clean and well maintained. It is also well appointed. If you want to cook your meals while you are there, everything you need is there and the grocery store is only a few miles away. I made chocolate chip cookies with my daughter and I used their KitchenAid mixer, measuring cups and spoons. Although it cools off nicely at night, the afternoons can get a bit warm. I was delighted to discover the house is equipped with a new air conditioner! There is also a washer and dryer. I returned from vacation with no laundry to do. While we were there, our main activity was fishing. The house’s location was perfect for it. The Fall River, Pit River, Hat Creek and Burney Creek are only minutes away! There is much more to do in the area besides fishing like hiking and golf just to name a few. The place is lovely. I highly recommend it! I plan to return next year.

Awesome place for our whole family!
We enjoyed Albaugh House immensely. It had enough beds and bedrooms perfect for us with 2 small families, one single, and my husband and me. We took a day trip to Burney Falls, less than an hour away, and that was incredible. Also went to the volcano tubes at Lassen Park. Amazing. Great family times around and in the house. The kids (and dogs) loved running around the big yard. Waking up each morning to the cows across the street was so calm and homey. We were close to Ray's Food store, too, and that was handy. We all brought food and having dinner together was a highlight. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and everything needed. Highly recommend!

Well Kept Country Home with Beautiful Landscaping
The house is clean and has many flowers in the yard. The newly installed house cooling system kept the house at a pleasant temperature even though we were there during the few weeks of the year when it does get hot. The patio was a great place to relax while watching the sunrises and sunsets and the grazing cows. The owners are very knowledgeable about the area and things to do.

We absolutely loved our stay in your beautiful home. You provided everything we needed for our stay including a clean and very well equipped kitchen for cooking and enjoying meals served on Pfaltzgraff dishes! I could hardly get enough of the spectacular view of the valley during the day and the amazing nighttime sky with more stars than I think I've ever seen. We lost track of how many shooting stars crossed the sky when we sat out on the patio one night. Your home provides a little slice of Heaven with true country living at its best. Really nice place
We enjoyed our week here. The house is great, clean and attractive. Comfy. beds. Well-stocked kitchen. Plenty of everything. BIg windows with tranquil views of lovely pasture country and mountains in the background. Loved the jacuzzi after a day of hiking along the several nearby rivers where the dogs went swimming. Lots of hot water. Give Tex an apple and get a few feet from a super huge longhorn! Close to a small town with basic stores and a couple decent restaurants. Very convenient. Owner came to meet us so all felt good.

Scenic and peaceful with clean air and fantastic cool nights!
Our group of 4 cyclists enjoyed staying at this very nice house & we are making plans to do it again next year! We especially enjoyed hanging out on the "soft" lawn (it really is! so soft!), the big back patio and gazing at the sky, clouds and quietness. Our dogs enjoyed running on the lawn and watching the cows. The laundry-room/mudroom was a perfect place for them to sleep too. The one drawback was that it was a bit hot for people sleeping on the first night. I think that was due to the exceptionally hot weather spell the day prior (over 100 degrees).

A piece of heaven
This rental was so homey and large. There were four couples and perfect space for all of us. The view from the front windows is the majestic Mt. Lassen and fields of cattle. I loved waking up to the quails song and the cows baying. So relaxing. Love the retro. I did not expect this quality home. I prepped deli trays for the wedding party and there was plenty of space in the kitchen. Lots of the ranch history and you felt like part of the family. Thank you for welcoming us here. The owners were readily available when we had questions. There are three toilets it would only be better if there was one more shower, especially with girls.

Perfect Getaway with Incredible Views
My sisters and I enjoyed staying here for our weekend getaway. The valley and mountain view from the living room/dining room was amazing. The house was completely clean, spacious, well maintained, and fully stocked. My sisters and I were very comfortable. The owners live close by and were friendly and helpful. Great place to get away from your busy city life. Great and relax panorama view of Lassen peak. The living room is large enough for family gathering. 30 minutes away from Burney Fall and 1 hr beautiful drive from Lassen National Park. The property is very clean and well maintained. The perfect vacation house!!!!felt like home:)
The living room was huge and with carpet, so every one would fit in,play poker,n other games all day long!!No complains with wifi.had a nice view of the farm from dining area.had a huge closet full of board games,so never got bored;)!!the bedrooms got a little chilly during night,but with jackets it was manageable!huge kitchen!!overall had a good time all 4 days!!!
