Hotel El Rancho

"This is an iconic hotel on Route 66. We arrived late, we were very tired from traveling all day. The hotel is very busy. They were accommodating, we had an issue at the restaurant with seating. The restaurant manager came out and was very nice and seated us and made sure we had everything we needed. They were busy but many tables were available, but would not let us sit down initially. They have a very old elevator and you have to pull very hard to open it. This hotel is decorated beautifully. So iconic. They have a nice restaurant, a gorgeous Ortega gift store. The rooms are small but nicely decorated. The bathroom is tiny. I mean tiny. The AC wasn’t working well and the room got very warm in the night. There is no fridge in the room. And, our room never got cleaned so we had to go down and get towels and coffee and bring it to the room, make the bed, etc. the carpet in the room was quite dirty."

"The best qualities were the comfortable bed and pillows. The rest was not so good. The curtains were half on/half off the rod and looked like they needed to be steamed. The toilet came off the floor when you sat down and there was a giant glob of dried caulk on rim of tub no one ever cleaned up."
