Cabin retreat on the Ouachita River

Retreat to this two-story secluded cabin on the Ouachita River. A little piece of heaven tucked away on a 70-acre cattle ranch. Enjoy the deck and screened in porch overlooking the river. You can swim, fish, have a campfire while soaking in nature. It is a nice country ride to Wolf Pen Gap no trailer needed. A great place to relax and connect with friends and family.

Perfect spot for a fun family vacation

We enjoyed a relaxing long weekend at the River Retreat. Michelle is an excellent host and is very responsive to any questions. She has a wealth of knowledge about the area. The cabin is pristine and packed with all the essentials. We have stayed at many properties that have the “bare minimum.” Not so with this river cabin. Michelle has thought of everything. Coffee, creamer, laundry detergent, paper towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner. Even a first aid kit! The property is only a quick 20 minute ATV ride along country roads to the Wolf Pen Gap area. We had a blast fishing and swimming in the many creeks and rivers in the area. The screened in porch would be great to sit in, when the weather is cool enough. We would 100% recommend.

Great place to get away

This cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway to ride trails and relax. It is peaceful and secluded with an amazing back deck and screened in patio. Easy access to WPG trails.

Property was very clean and in excellent shape. The back deck is a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee. I was pulling a 24 ft gooseneck trailer that we carry our side by side in. I reached out to the owners in advance and Travis met me on the highway and helped me get parked after dark. Exactly as advertised with helpful owners. We will stay at this property again.

Sweet stay

We loved a sweet little weekend stay at the cabin! Our 5 year old loved fishing and playing in the river. The deck is so nice for the mornings and evenings after a long day! The only reason I rated 4 stars is because the water in the house smelled like sewer. I assume it is just the way well water there smells, but it was very noticeable when we ran any sinks or the shower.

Right by river

I wasn’t sure how close the cabin was to the river, but it’s just a few steps down the bank. The bank is mowed so the river acsess is very easy. Wish we had brought kayaks. We have At&t and had good connection.

Weekend on the river

My wife and I brought our youngest (15) son on a weekend trip to get a way before school starts back up. We brought our side by side and did some riding on the back roads. The cabin was awesome! The beds were comfortable and the AC works good too. I forgot our potatoes for our steaks on Saturday night, but Mena is just 19 mins away, so I ran to town and grabbed a few. Met Travis the owner and visited with him and swapped hunting stories. This is a great place to visit and we will be coming back!

A Must Stay

If you're looking for a peaceful secluded getaway for yourself or with family this is the place. The property is beautiful, clean and couldn't have booked a better place to get away from it all. We absolutely loved our stay, swimming and fishing in the river below. I highly recommend this cabin!

Gorgeous property on an awesome river. Enjoyed 4 days of kayaking with friends with no hiccups. Great communication with friendly and helpful owners. Much nicer than it appeared in the photos.

Great getaway

If you want quiet and secluded this is the place- no cell reception even. Only 18 miles to town and 30 minutes from an awesome river float at the Ouachita River Haven. We played in the river directly in front of the house and grilled on the porch every day. I suggest not to take your low clearance vehicle though. My Civic made it but it was slow going bc of the gravel and tree roots. Next time we'll bring the truck. Michelle kept in contact with us but didn't bother us; even though Hurricane Barry was hovering over us for a couple of days. We had a wonderful stay!

Wonderful secluded cabin on the Quachita River

We had a great time at this cabin! It is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with all your basics, including coffee and coffee pot :). The property owners were super sweet and easily available to take care of any needs that arose. Check in and check out was easy, as well. The kids had a great time exploring and fishing. Thank y’all!

Tranquility at its best.

One of the most peaceful vacations I’ve ever had. We loved the view and especially fishing on the river. The owners went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay and sent us to beautiful trails to ride our ATVs. I definitely look forward to staying again.

Peaceful Paradise

We loved our stay at the cabin, Michelle and Travis were great! The river was nice and cool and perfect for relaxing and playing in. The back deck was a great place to start the mornings. The cabin was stocked with everything we could possibly need. The kids loved seeing the calves each day and watching them play. The only downside if you could call it one was the lack of cell phone capabilities, but we were able to drive up the hill and check in with family at home. Thank you both for sharing your peace of paradise!

Just What We Needed!

The cabin was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. Our stay was quiet and tranquil; the owners are available to assist with questions or concerns. The property is beautiful. Our family had time to focus upon being together and enjoying each other without the demands of our work and social lives interfering. I truly would like to go visit that cabin again!
