Great place!

The location was great, you can walk to most of the cafes and bars in Methven so no need to drive once you get here. The bed was very comfortable with great pillows! I’ll be staying here again.

Stayed at Snow Denn Lodge and felt like part of the family within 1 hour of checking in. The room was nice and warm and the shared shower facilities are clean and comfortable. Brilliant staff, great drying room for skis and use of the guest laundry was extremely helpful.

The lodge provided a convenient and comfortable base for our trip. The location is ideal - it's an easy walk to the supermarket, restaurants, and the shuttle bus pickup for Mt Hutt skiing. The lodge itself is quiet and relaxed. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The staff were very friendly & replied promptly when I asked to extend stay. The price was reasonable. The kitchen was well equiped. Especially liked the fire place in the kitchen. Everything was clean from our room to the kitchen. I would prefer a lighter duvet though my daughter liked the weighted duvet - so that's personal preference. The only concern was being able to hear people in the next room. I could hear snoring when I used the bathroom but at least couldn't hear this when we shut the bathroom door. Though in the morning it was quite noisy. Didn't really bother me as we were getting up anyway.

I was disappointed in my room. To pay the same price as a motel or very similar to get a room for at least 2 with an ensuite and find I was put into such a small room with an ensuite that you can hardly turn around in was totally disappointing. To top things off when I went to have a wash in the morning there was no hot water.

Back again to ski second year in a row.

This was our second trip to Snow Denn and we had another enjoyable stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful and it was great to see how much her young child had grown since our visit last year. Our boys were happy to be back. The kitchen and bathroom were nice and clean and the other guests friendly and quiet. Nice central location, very near to both supermarkets and in town eateries. All very short walking distance.

Good Bathrooms, Kitchen & dining room with fireplace, and lounge room. Located fairly close to shops and food & beverage outlets and has private car parking on site available. However the room I stayed in (twin dorm with bunk bed) was really small and had bad soundproofing so all the noise from people talking in kitchen and dining room, shower and toilet came straight through the walls.

Entire lodge was spotless and everything was there we needed. Only issue was the noise. And probably this was due to other guests not being considerate. Our bedroom was below TV room. Noise from TV. People dropping things and talking was easily heard. The worse thing was banging doors when guest went in and out. One guest put an object in door entrance to keep door from closing and chatted on mobile ph. It was very noisy when guests opened or closed bedroom doors and lodge entrance doors. Maybe a notice to close doors quietly with handles might help. The noise was the only thing that was not right. Receptionist very welcoming on arrival.

So cosy my boys didn't want to go home!

My two young boys and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Snow Denn Lodge. It was a lovely warm and welcoming hostel, with comfy made up beds and a wood burning stove lit each evening in the kitchen/dining/common area. The kitchen was well equipped and clean and there was a lovely big dining table that was great for meeting other Lodge residents around. I loved that I could easily recycle our waste and even feed food scraps to the owners' chooks (via collection bucket). My boys loved hanging out in the comfortable lounge area upstairs, with great views over to Mount Hutt. We even met another family to ski with through staying here. They come back annually, apparently. Plus, when a favourite cuddly toy was accidentally left behind, Laura, one of the owners, located it and is couriering it home to us. Great, friendly service from her, partner Tim and baby Tessa!! I'm sure we'll be back...
