Honestly, just not great unless you absolutely have to be right on the strip. Small room, pretty gross floors and shower, zero hot water (no seriously… super cold), internet worked for 5 minutes at a time, and the bed was very uncomfortable. I love that area, but I wouldn’t go back to this one. I also booked a beach view according to Expedia and didn’t get that, not that it would have mattered, all things considered.

The room needed to be cleaned the bathroom floor and table tops were dirty with dust food and hair. The staff at the front desk were so helpful and accommodating they helped us the entire time. They were very hospitable Fernando and Isreal helped us with late check out. The food at the restaurant out front was also delicious. All in all it was a good experience. There is a CVS next door with cleaning supplies also. Lol

The hotel was in a great spot on Ocean Drive. The elevator was a little outdated and scary, but that is me. It might be vintage to someone else and they are okay with it. Otherwise the staff was very friendly, I have no complaints. This might be my go to spot when I come to Miami.

This boutique hotel is at a great location on Ocean Drive, walkable to beach, restaurants, stores and parking garage. The room was clean, staff was friendly and very helpful. No beach views from the room. Two bars in the hotel. The reviews did mention Valet parking however, valet was not available due to the busy weekend but we were able to load and unload in front of the hotel and parking structure was a short walk away for $50 a night.

Rainfall shower…with no attachments was honestly the final straw for me. Things started off great. The concierge let my family store our bags until our room was ready and even provided complimentary beach items, which had me excited for our stay. Then we got hungry. Montana’s is extremely overpriced, and even with the 20% discount, it wasn’t worth it, so we skipped it. When we returned from the beach, everything went downhill. The hotel had lost power, so key cards couldn’t be activated. We were told some guests were moved to a neighboring property, but because we needed double beds and only kings were available, we weren’t given that option. Instead, staff had to physically drill into rooms to let guests in every time. Yes, there was security, but traveling with kids, that didn’t feel safe or comfortable. We were told we’d receive a discount, which turned out to be a joke—$45 off the resort fee. For nearly $400 a night, that’s unacceptable. The aesthetics were also disappointing. The property is outdated with cheap cosmetic fixes. I always clean before settling in and found hair throughout the bathroom and room. The rooms are tiny, and the bathroom door looked previously damaged, poorly patched with vinyl only on one side. Never again. I don’t care about the history—this stay felt like a complete rip-off. Highly disappointed.

The Colony is an excellent place to stay while in South Beach. I will stay there again. The room was rather sparse, but the basics are there. Two beds, a safe, air conditioning, bath with a shower are all the amenities that are needed. If it’s all about location, location, location, then the Colony is the place for you.
