The hotel is a great choice for a budget stay. The hotel is showing its age but the rooms are very clean and the staff is amazing!! There are "no frills" or "extras" but is you are looking for a good place to sleep at night and explore the city/beach during the day it's an excellent choice.

Israel started the trip off right by helping us out when we were confused about the valet situation due to Ocean Drive being shut down. And the valet was wonderful and very patient with us too. It got only better from there. The decor of the place is just beautiful and very imaginative. I felt like I had walked back into the 1920s. The restaurant is a great place for a date (I was with my daughter but definitely want to bring my fiance with me next time). My only suggestion is to upgrade the old electronic locks. They are terrible. It takes many attempts to get into the room. A similar lock at a Holiday Inn in Fort Lauderdale caused us to be locked out twice waiting a hour for maintenance because they are just not dependable. Other than that, the stay would have been perfect.

Smaller rooms but I traveled solo so for me the room was perfect. It was clean, it had a safe, iron with table, blow dryer, closet space, and a mini fridge. It met all my needs. Even with it being on Ocean drive I wasnt kept up at night when i wanted to sleep. Overall great stay. Would return for sure.

Location was great. Room was clean and staff was helpful. The room was a bit bare bones though. No dresser, desk or chair. Just two double beds and a nightstand with a fridge underneath it. So no place other than the floor to open suitcases to live out of them.

The location is obviously unbeatable, but the hotel itself is in terrible shape. The rooms are very small, the bathrooms even smaller and nothing has been renovated in a long time. Even the beds were bad, so much so that we barely slept. This was our first time in South Beach; we'll definitely go back but we won't stay at that hotel again.

The Colony Hotel has a great location—right on the promenade, which was very convenient for walking and exploring the area. The check-in staff member was extremely kind and welcoming, which made a good first impression. That said, parking was a bit of a hassle. We had to park a few blocks away in a garage that cost $20 per day, and walking several blocks with our suitcases wasn’t ideal. The room itself had some mixed aspects. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, which was a big plus. However, the shower temperature was very difficult to regulate—it was either extremely hot or very cold, with no easy balance. We also wanted to watch a movie, but the TV remote only worked to turn the TV on and off; none of the other buttons functioned. Additionally, there were no washcloths provided in the room, which was inconvenient. Overall, the location and comfortable bed were highlights, but a few maintenance and amenity issues took away from the experience.

We stayed in an oceanfront suite at The Colony Hotel, and it was such a fun, iconic Miami Beach experience. One of my favorite parts was having a view of the famous neon sign from two different windows — such a classic South Beach moment — though lights on three of the letters were out during our stay, which did dampen some of our photos in the evening. We also loved looking out over the main street and the ocean and taking in all the activity day and night. Art Basel had a tent set up that blocked part of the ocean view, but we could still see enough that it didn’t spoil things. The windows were pretty dirty, but it was nice that they opened fully, letting in fresh air and the sounds of the street below. The history and character of the hotel really added to the charm. It’s one of those places you instantly recognize from movies, TV shows, and photos of South Beach, and staying there made us feel like we were stepping into that world. We also appreciated how the hotel embraces its connection to Scarface — it adds a fun, nostalgic touch to the experience. At checkout, the front desk staff was genuinely warm and made a point to ask if we had enjoyed our stay. It was a thoughtful touch and a nice way to wrap up our visit. Overall, a memorable stay in a truly iconic Miami Beach spot.
