"My stay was terrific. The Hotel is a charming throwback to earlier years. Every detail of the renovation, from the rooms to the public areas were perfectly appointed. The Breakfast Buffet was varied and filling. The Best "Grits" I have ever eaten - they actually had a taste of corn, they were delicious! Parking was convenient. There were plenty of spots available just outside or within a few steps of the front porch. The "Speak Easy Bar" in the Basement was a great surprise experience. Music and Libation in a comfortable parlor setting. There really were no negatives!! Would stay there again and again!! The NuWray is a charming destination!"

"Booked the trip for my family of 5. We had a great time. The only negative thing I have to say is there is no signal out there unless you have Verizon. I didn't get the code beforehand as I normally just check my messages as I arrive, but there was no signal so I had to drive back towards town until I got a signal to call the host for the door code. Once inside the property, everything was good. If you have someone staying in the back room off the kitchen and it is cold, use the oil radiator provided otherwise it is very cold. Kitchen was well equipped, the only thing we missed was a toaster oven because we like to use those for buns, or cheese on toast, rather an actual toaster, which they did have. In all we had a good time. The property is about 25min drive to Asheville. We booked the property because the Vrbo app said the property was only 9miles from Mt. Mitchell, which was the whole reason we went, that is not correct, it was an hours drive. But that is not the host's fault, it was Vrbo's error. The host was great "

"We enjoyed this beautiful mountain cabin with our two kids and dogs and had the BEST time! The view from the cabin is just stunning and we enjoyed soaking in the hot tub on the porch a FEW times! The kids (my husband included) thoroughly enjoyed the game room. The owners were so communicative and attentive. I really appreciated their thoroughness! We can’t wait to go back!"

"Wonderful time at Ruth’s Place. Very clean and excellent communication with the owner. We really enjoyed sitting outside under the twinkle lights with the fire pit. We hope to be back another time. "

"Quaint, quiet, and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, even though the stairs and uneven terrain was a bit challenging for our 60 selves (and me with a bum knee), I’d stay here again. The hot tub and an unexpected snow added to our delight (Floridians here). There was a bit of an incline to the driveway and we needed to make a number of three point turns to avoid backing out, but our extended cab Ford F150 managed it just fine. I loved that we were out in the country but within a 25 minute drive to Publix. The flowing waters of a nearby stream added to the ambiance."

"I do not recommend this hotel. Cons: - Not a good value (I paid $120 a night) - No proper maintenance is done. For our room, the shower head was held by a wire, the circuit breaker tripped multiple times, including at night, the outer window was broken, and the wall was poorly patched... - The online lobby picture looks nothing like the actual sad lobby. Pros: - Clean - Easy parking, central to the hikes we wanted to do. For $20 more elsewhere, you can get a nice place with a view, with breakfast and dinner included (we learned too late)."
