Boyd's Windmill, also known as Boyd's Wind Grist Mill, is a historic smock mill in Middletown, Rhode Island. John Peterson built the windmill in 1810, and William Boyd purchased it in 1815. It originally had four common sails, but four more were added by the family. The mill is a timber-frame structure, octagonal in shape, and about 30 feet (9.1 m) tall, with a rotating cap powered by eight vanes with canvas sheets.
The mill is located on a public area so the grounds are open. The windmill itself is open to the public on Sunday afternoons in July, August and September.

Our stay was during some of the coldest weather Newport has seen in years and the room was still nice and warm. The property has a ton of historic charm and still provides a very comfortable stay. "Staff was very helpful and courteous. The night clerk even brought me a pot of hot tea! Amazing service. However there was an issue in the morning, as the maid knocked on my door 3 times starting probably at 9, for some unknown reason when I was just trying to sleep... My check out time was 12, and I checked in late... I do not know what was wrong with her, I even asked the staff on her, 4 star hotel, and something this ridiculous happens .."
