A popular and trendy hostel with an adjacent bistro. The bistro is very lively and noisy, but the hostel part is behind heavy security doors and rather peaceful. Lots of cool art pieces everywhere. Decent breakfast, nice guest kitchen. Not that central, but within walking distance from Fondazione Prada and Fondazione ICA.
Madama was my first hostel experience and it was great! Beds were comfortable and the location was great, about a 5 minute walk to the metro which can get you anywhere in Milan quickly. Area is safe and always people around, but quiet. Madama’s bistrot is very lively, so if you prefer a more quiet hostel this is not for you. You can hear the kitchen working from the room but it’s usually quiet by midnight and starts up around 8 in noise. I did not mind this since I was out and about most of the time, but something to know. All the other hostel stayers were great and I made friends. Highly recommend!
I enjoyed my stay at Madama! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I stayed in an all girls dorm. The beds were comfortable enough. I wish rhe shower had a fan, after a shower the whole room would be humid. Also, it seems neither there was no air flow in the room unless the window was open.
I would definitely say this is a hostel for younger people. If you dont mind the music downstairs, the extremely thin walls (you can hear people talking in the next room and opening the drawers under the bed), then you should be fine. I didnt use the community kitchen but it was clean when i went in.
Metro is near by and an Aldi if you need anything.
It was an excellent experience for me. the owners were incredibly friendly, peaceful and helpful. when i walked in i was thinking i want to drink a glass of water and the receptionist asked if you would like a glass of water! they were very kind and polite people! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If you want, there is a bar under the hostel, you can spend time there as well. When I come to this city again, I will choose this hostel again. thanks for everything!

Great place close to Metro stop (like 5 mins walk). I loved the possibility to have dinner and breakfast. Overall dinner was a lot better than breakfast. Breakfast was super basic. Dinner was mostly vegetarian options (kudos), and they were all very good. Its like a buffet kind of style, with 5-6 different options. The place seems to be quite popular with locals, the place was busy both in the evening and for breakfast. Dorms are big and specious. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Overall very recommended place.
It’s a really nice place to stay, but if unfortunately you come on weekends or holiday which they have parties, you will not be able to sleep because of the noise. The staff are really helpful to help with changing rooms if you have any problem and provide free ear plog
The location is good, almost everything in the city, including the centre, can be easily reached by public transport. I suppose, if you are a backpacker in your twenties, you would find the place cool. As someone past that age, you might reach the limits of your comfort zone staying there. The furnishing is vintage/loft style (= is impractical and looks like it hasn't been refurbished since the 60s) and you will have to share the room with several young backpackers which might be more or less considerate of their neighbours. The cleanliness was, well... as it usually is where many young people share the same facilities. The price includes a dinner and a breakfast but these are school cantine style rather than the great food you usually get in Italy. As I said, it's a hostel and not a hotel. It's just not very cheap for a hostel.
However, the staff was really nice and helpful. They are probably the best part of the hostel.
