  • Quite amazing to see this cemetery. Milan's wealthy families seemed to try and top each other by building large tombs often decorated with plenty of sculptures of angels, putti, sphinx or other figures. All kind of architectural styles were used, from Egyptian, neo-Roman and Byzantine over neo-Gothic to more modern styles such as Art Nouveau, modernist and even post-modern. The sheer number of different works of art by often highly acclaimed artists resulted in an interesting open air museum, where visitors are easily overwhelmed by the large number of monumental mausoleums and sculptures. Fortunately placards installed on the grounds of the cemetery that show an overview of the most spectacular and most famous graves.

The property is located approximately 2 km from the Milan railway central station. The reception is open only from 8 am to 9 pm. The reception and the rooms are located in different buildings. The room is spacious and has a mini kitchen. The bed is large and comfortable. The free WiFi connection works well.

Pros: Close to tram and bus stops. Allowed to check-in at 11am despite it is at 2pm. Close to few shops for buying water cheap etc. The room had a kitchen with microwave, hob and tap/sink. Cons: A bit run down and need major revamp. Room was tiny like a 1 bed apartment. Sheets were dirty. So we didnt use it at all. There were so many ants in bathroom, and got bitten a few times. Not always manned at reception, so if you need anything outside the reception hours, no chance. There was no coffee/tea/kettle provided. But had microwave. AC was not great though it was on full power.

I mean i get what i paid for but the worst part is 2 things: Wifi doesn’t work and our room was in the back! One good thing, they have a coffee machine in the lobby(not free) and it has yummy hot chocolate!

Cheap stay good for a night but that’s about it.

It’s cheap enough to stay a night or two like we did. But expect it to look like the 1980’s or 90s with the condition of walls and basins it might as well be. I don’t understand how walls / sinks can be in such condition and not mentioned anywhere or the hotel doesn’t bother to do anything with it.

The photo posted is deceiving as the room is very small. The cleaning staffs are very friendly though. The "hotel" closes officially at 9 PM (all doors locked). This was not disclosed at time of booking.

The place was just fine, but the refrigerator was filled with towels. I thing they were defrosting and forgot to come back. Also the stove would not turn on, but the microwave was working, so no problem. Little things.
