Mostly enjoyed our stay at Courtyard in Milwaukee. The desk and breakfast staff were great. There were a few things I didn’t like:
1.) parking was terrible. Expedia stated on site parking, but it fails to tell you it’s $22/day and in a parking garage. We also weren’t given clear directions about after parking. Do NOT follow the “elevator” sign.
2.) no free breakfast. Coffee and breakfast cost me $20, though we didn’t want to find another place in town to go.
3.) called for pillows for the pull out, to which we were told it was the weekend and they didn’t have any. Then asked about an extra blanket and was told if we wanted one, we’d have to go down to get it ourselves. Which I refuse to do. So, in all, I slept on an uncomfortable pull out sofa with 1 extra pillow from the bed in the room and a very thin fleece blanket. I was uncomfortable and freezing all night.
4.) every time we took the elevator, it sounded like it was about to plummet. For the door rate staying $499/night, you’d think they’d fix the elevators.
5.) was VERY noisy during the day. The road it’s on is incredibly busy. There were atleast a dozen emergency vehicles that went by with sirens, loud exhausts, etc. Maybe I expected too much being from a smaller area, but dang.
If it weren’t for those things, the hotel is quite nice. The lobby area was great. Tons of seating options, billiards table, tv, and Starbucks coffee. 😊
