Love it!

We have stayed in Beachside II which was nice, however WestWinds was our favorite! The pool was much larger and nicer, and we had the pool bar which was awesome! The room was great with amazing views! We will definitely be back!

Gorgeous Unit

We had a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful and the unit is gorgeous. We loved sitting on the lanai every day, just watching the waves. We will definitely come again!

As advertised

Very clean unit. Great views of Gulf and sunset. Had all the furnishings a family of three needed. Oven didn't seem to heat correctly, but we made it work. Pool was clean and beach access was simple enough.

UUUHHHHMAAZZZING

My entire time from check in to check out my kids and I had the best time. Weather was not that great the first night but we still swam because the pool was heated. The views from this room were breath taking. The communication from the owners or whomever reached out was smooth! Please book with them… but just not my dates… I’ll be back next year!

Wonderful apartment in a great location

We were really pleased with this apartment. Spacious, full of natural light and clean. The location was perfect and liked the security of it being a gated community with great parking facilities. Access to the beach and pools make it great for families. Overall the apartment was comfortable, quality appliances, and equipped well for cooking. We visited over a very unseasonably cold Easter weekend but that didn't spoil our enjoyment. Would definitely recommend.

Just Perfect

We enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing spring break at Sandestin and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful beach, pool and view from this condo unit. It had everything we needed, including very friendly maintenance staff who took quick care of a small water leak in the refrigerator filtration system.

Spring break 2023

Wonderful experience. My husband and I took our 2 kids (5 and 2yo) for spring break in March. The heated pool was a win. The guest bathroom was large enough to easily fit a pack and play, so our kids could have separate sleeping spaces. Would definitely come back.

Awesome room the only thing is the guest bedroom bathroom shower doesn’t get enough pressure water comes out the shower but still comes out the spout so the pressure isn’t there with the shower head other then thay great room will definitely think about staying there again

Spring Break

The condo itself was clean and up to date. It was well styled and comfortable. We arrived Sunday evening and found our way to the correct condo. Woke up Monday morning to jackhammering. Looking out we could see there was some serious work being done to the kiddie pool and possibly the main pool. We headed to the beach and realized the Tiki Bar was serving some drinks and only chicken tenders and fries. It was disappointing. That was one of the big reasons we chose Westwinds, the convenience of drinks/food. They said we could swim if we wanted, but there was construction going on and it wasn’t enjoyable. No one was using it. The beach was beautiful and nice but again the noise. We ended up getting getting an Uber to some shops. The tram service was not easy to navigate. Tuesday same with pool situation, by Wednesday everything was shut down and the hot tub was drained. We didn’t get a text notification until Wednesday that there was work being done to the pool. I understand times are hard for everyone, but same for us as renters. We didn’t get to use the pool or Tiki Bar once. We didn’t get what we paid for and it was frustrating because a heads up and someone explaining the situation before we got there and our other options would have gone over better. One worker told us about another pool we could use but the directions were ridiculous and we didn’t come to ride the tram to someone else’s pool. Overall, I think if everything was up and running properly we would have had a great time. It really was a nice condo. We just left feeling frustrated.

Fun in the sun

After we had to cancel Christmas in the Uk, we scrambled to find something fun for our family to do over Christmas. After searching Vrbo I decided on this property and we all agreed we had a great time. Property is on 8th floor. It faces west so no sunrise views but fantastic sunsets. The balconies are small, one is really not useable as so small the other has room for a table and chairs. The place was clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The building is luxurious and the grounds well maintained with lovely gardens with flowers and palm trees. The pool is large and warm, the hot tub nice and hot.plenty of seating and sun beds. A short walk on a small walkway leads you to a white sandy beach. The property comes with 2 beach chairs which we used. We spent a lot of time at the beach and pool but did venture out to destiny harbor walk and sandesting bayside area. We played golf at the family golf course nearby .

Upside: This property is right on the beach with a wonderful pool area. The views from the balcony are gorgeous and the layout of the condo was great for our family of 4. Kitchen was also well-stocked. Downside: The floor to ceiling window in the “kids” room was completely shattered and had only a foam covering attached with duct tape. It made us so nervous (on the 8th floor) that we moved furniture in front of the window. Had I read all the reviews for the property, I would’ve seen that this was an issue 3 months prior to our visit. I contacted the management company and they said it was deemed safe per the property manager. They also said they contacted everyone with a reservation to let them know about the window. (We we’re not contacted, however.) They did give us a 20% refund but we were mostly concerned about the safety issue for us and future renters. Other concerns: carpet has stains and needs to be deep cleaned or replaced. Both bedrooms were extremely hot. The main area got cool, but the AC did not work well in either bedroom. I suspect this has been an issue before because there was a box fan in each bedroom closet. We had to use them to sleep at night. The mattresses in both bedrooms were also very soft and bouncy. In regards to the beach…. the entire beach area in front of Westwinds and adjacent bldgs is not “available” to Westwinds guests . Only a small section directly in front of the Westwinds bldg. The Sandestin resort puts up umbrellas to rent 2-3 rows back, so if you are bringing your own beach chairs, be prepared to set up camp further from the water.

We found that the shower curtain in the 2nd bathroom had mold. The window in the 2nd bedroom was broken. Carpet was dirty and stained in both bedrooms.

Safety issues, broken dishwasher, mold

Shattered interior pane in the kids’ room on 8th floor, only “secured” by styrofoam placed against the broken glass. We suggested plywood inserted into the window frame more than once to ensure that the young children who stayed in the room didn’t accidentally push it through, but this was ignored. Dishwasher was broken all week. Mold in the kids’ bathtub (around drain). Master shower felt like we were being pressure washed. Seriously painful. Kitchen lacked basic supplies, like measuring cups and measuring spoons. Otherwise, location, view, pool, beach and building were great.

Amazing!

We had the best week! This condo is beautiful and has been completely updated with new paint and living room furnishings, not shown in current photos. I really loved the layout and all the natural light it gets. Super clean! Easy access! The whole property is absolutely gorgeous. Looking forward to a return trip!

Perfect Spring Getaway

Relaxing family beach vacation! Enjoy private beach area with access to all Sandestin hotels and restaurants. Plenty of kitchen supplies for making meals in the condo. Wonderful stay!

My new happy place!

The unit was amazing...great floor plan provided for social and private time. And the view...wow! Beach is right there on property along with the pool so whatever your mood, you could pick either one. Clean and well kept property overall. Staff was all very courteous and helpful. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Great Condo/Great Property

We absolutely loved this condo and the property. However, there is carpet in the bedrooms that had a few stains when we arrived. We did not think much of it and did not feel the need to report it. After an amazing trip and referring 3 friends to this property I received a call from Vacation Haven. I assumed they were checking on our stay... not the case. They called to let me know that they charged my credit card an additional amount for carpet stains from an animal. We did not have any animals with us. The condo was left spotless. I let Vacation Haven know this and they assured me they would follow up with me after speaking with a manger. They never called me back. I emailed them letting them know it was not about the money but the principal of the matter. Finally, Amanda from Vacation Haven called back almost a week later and let me know my card had been refunded. I have to wonder how many extra fees are tagged onto people's bills that aren't warranted. Needless to say the 3 couples I referred to this property did not book and chose to book with another property. We would actually stay in this condo again but would never book through Vacation Haven again.
