"The perfect getaway! Close enough to several beautiful day hikes, but far enough that it doesn't feel "touristy". Set in the bush, but with an ocean view - just stunning! Tastefully furnished and more than adequately stocked with the necessities that make a bach feel like home. Aaron was a stellar host - from the eggs on the bench to the Rayburn tutorial to delivering an extension cord - he went above and beyond. We also appreciated his passion for conservation. We can't imagine there's a better place than this, especially for a Spring holiday!"

"We had a fantastic stay. The property is new and in excellent condition, beautifully presented and very comfortable throughout.The kitchen was particularly well equipped and had everything we needed, and the whole property had all the home comforts that made our stay really enjoyable.A lovely place to stay and a great base for enjoying Little Wanganui. We’d happily stay again and would definitely recommend it"

"Access to your account with the booking company is needed to read messages sent by the host. I didn't find this useful. The kia studio is quiet, comfortable, quality and clean. Cooking (apart from toaster & microwave) was at the outdoor (covered) barbecue. A cleaning cloth for the stainless surfaces would be welcome."

"Online listing does not explain clearly the ‘off grid’ nature of the property (limited power & hot water) and does not include details about the 300m walk (incl a skinny sway bridge crossing) to get from where you park your car to the property, nor was this communicated to us as part of the special instructions you normally receive days before your arrival. No contact was made until a few hours prior and no information was provided at that time, only on arrival were we told that we needed a 4WD to get to the cottage, so our luggage was transported by the host while we walked. Had we known and been prepared (incl packing differently), we would have enjoyed it, rather than being surprised and frustrated. The cottage itself was lovely and once we settled in, it was enjoyable, just not what we were expecting."
