Cozy rooms inside a renovated farmhouse / shared pool

"The property is in a well renovated farmhouse in the village of St Michele in the mountains above Gardone Riviera, a peaceful place with mountain views about 10 minutes away from the busy lakefront. It is reached by a winding mountain road (with panoramic views) so a car is essential. We were a multigenerational family of 7 and stayed for 11 nights in mid August. Alberto is a great and thoughtful host for whom nothing was too much trouble. We had some interesting conversations with him about the local history and he provided us with useful information on the area of Lake Garda. The clean and spacious apartment is on the 2nd floor of the farmhouse, all bedrooms are comfortable with good storage space and have ensuite bathrooms, and the kitchen is very well equipped. There is a pleasant garden area for relaxing outside, and Alberto supplied a small 'pop up' pool on his land for our 3 children which they enjoyed using. The attractive pool at the Hotel Colomber very close by is available (for an entrance fee) for use by apartment guests, when the hotel is not very busy. There are mountain paths and woodland trails for those that like walking. Altogether we had a lovely stay here and were sorry to leave this peaceful place!"

"Beautiful boutique hotel with lovely staff and a nice restaurant. Pool was spotless and beautiful and direct access to the lake to swim was fabulous. Only real complaint is that the air conditioning was not strong and the room was incredibly hot and stuffy. For a 5 star hotel, I would have expected better."

"Wonderful, scenic location with outstanding views of. With a car, the whole of Lake Garda is very accessible and we found port parking to access ferrys and in town exploration very easy (even during Aug peak season). The restaurant was simply excellent - the staff, the food, the setting. Though not our intention, we dined at the property each evening given how beautiful and satisfying it all was. The menu is large and the pasta and desserts were particularly sublime. The hotel staff was beyond hospitable. Cannot recommend enough."

"Beautiful location and although all 32 rooms were full it didn’t appear busy as bar, pool and restaurant areas were spacious. Ferry trip to Limone was relaxing and worth it for the picturesque harbour. Lots of steps up to the hotel from the lake which were tough in the heat. We used buses but would be worth hiring a car if we visit again."

"Amazing views but car is essential. We did not have a car and felt restricted, particularly when it came to eating out - the walk back up the hill was extreme! We arrived on the ferry and would have been completely stuck if it had not been for the kindness of a stranger who drove us and our luggage up the hill to the apartment. Apartment was clean and modern - would have benefited from some wardrobe space in the bedrooms. Great outdoor space."
