“Albergo Sala was a unique experience in the small village of Valbrona. It was quiet and not much to do but that's what we were looking for. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the food was wonderful. The inn is historic and has been in the family for a few hundred years! As it is off the beaten track it is advisable to have a car as public transport is infrequent and challenging and taxi service is quite expensive. Aside from that it was a great place to stay a few days.”

“Although it was only a short stay, we enjoyed Locanda Alberti. The location very close to the lakeside and walkable from the train station is perfect. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.”

I recommend coming by car, as there isn’t much within walking distance, but the on-site restaurant is excellent — great food, very romantic atmosphere, and the whole area is quiet and peaceful. “If you are traveling with a car, this hotel would be a great one for visiting Milan/Southern Switzerland. Everything is perfect, it looks like newly renovated with spacious rooms. We arrived the hotel very late, around 9:30pm, while the restaurant still opens and the quality of food is good. We will definitely visit again.”
