The atmosphere is nostalgic. It takes me back to when I was a child before everything became soo commercialized. The staff are second to none and really made us feel very welcome. A short walk to the beach on the boardwalk thru the dunes was fabulous!!!!

The property was as expected no worries there. I love the cabana area. The walk to the beach was a bit long and not finished but life goes on. Needs more lighting too. And never take the corner 16 because it’s far away from the boardwalk and it virtually has no parking. I had to squeeze in where I didn’t fit our park far away, and to need that was very disappointing. The other use was I understood the room had 2 queen beds but they were full buyers Beds and not what I expected. Otherwise not bad at all I really appreciate the late check in.

Very clean. All the amenities one might need and having a kitchenette was helpful. I have mobility issues and everyone on the staff was incredibly helpful. There are a couple tips I would like to leave. For others with mobility issues, the trek to the beach was arduous. I found easy access to the beach on 3rd Street in Emerald Isle which is not far away. There’s parking, a ramp, and a very short walk with no steps. And for the owners of Beacon, I would suggest leaving instructions for the air conditioner/heater. I found the remote, but apparently I didn’t know how to set it. I think one of the staff finally set it for me, which was good. I would agree with what someone else wrote in their reviews that the curtains could be a little darker to block out light pollution at night. I didn’t know ahead of time they were pet friendly, but that’s a plus. Thank you all so much.

The Beacon is well-priced and a great value! Nothing fancy, but this is a vintage style motel with tons of charm. Like vintage motels, not a lot of room for belongings - a well-placed shelf would be helpful in the bathroom for vanity items. But, it is exactly as expected - small, charming, and perfect for a get-away to the beach. Very nice beach location with easy access (boardwalk through the dunes ) and a nice observation deck at the end of the boardwalk, before descending the stairs to the beach. At the motel, there is a very nice and large outdoor gathering area for relaxing and hanging out in the evenings, suitable for larger groups and also small private seating areas. The room was updated recently and clean, with a very comfortable bed. A few restaurants and stores are within walking distance, but the location is nicely suited in a slower paced section of the island.

My Husband and I stayed at the Beacon for our Honeymoon, it was absolutely a wonderful stay, the staff was so kind and even had a gift for us. They have a ton of beach items to borrow and the walk from the hotel to the beach is short and super easy. The only comment we have is the bed we particularly had was extremely firm. This was our first time staying here and we are already planning to rebook.

The whole place got renovated since I been there a few years ago. Refurbished rooms, super clean. Very cozy and nice looking public space with a grill, bar table, swing seesaws as bar stools(!) and ping-pong table (!). Bicycles and some beach stuff you can use (for free). And the main thing - own beach access board walk. Highly recommend!
