Really nice historical property in primary location. Stayed in room 115 which may be the best room on the property. Large and historically decorated. King James spent several nights at the property when it was a simple coach house. Nice restaurant on site but recommend reservations at both hotel and restaurant at the same time, as the area is not that large and very popular. Within easy walking distance of the train station, grocery store and many local historical sites. Front desk was very helpful. Great town to use as an introduction the Cotswolds.

Beautiful property, in urgent need of maintenance and remodeling. Beds and mattresses are in very bad condition, carpets have had it. Only 5 AC equipped rooms. We got four of them and ACs were working on two of them.

We stayed in Room 116. Opened the door to a horrible smell, air con and fan both on. Managed to lose the smell by turning off the bathroom fan. The mobile fan had a very thick coating of dust which must have built up over years, not just this year. We did get the fan replaced but the dust from the filthy one was everywhere in the room. The bathroom door and light switches all needed a very good scrub. The refreshment tray had a kettle but we had to remove the coffee maker to make way to plug the kettle in. Had to wash the sticky teaspoon before using. The list goes on. Extremely poor for the price. Staff could have been more friendly too.
