Bedbugs in the Old Nursing Facility – Stay away!

To get there you have to drive past a landfill and along a bumpy road that ends at a house in need of love – a building that once served as a care facility for the elderly. The place exudes an institutional atmosphere and the mood is not improved by the stale smell of old people embedded in the walls, nor by the mismatched furniture from past decades. Whether you fancy old Rococo pieces, 1970s velvet sofas, or leather armchairs from the 80s, you can be sure to find your style! The rooms are former patient rooms. Mine was furnished only with a bed, a small stool, a tabletop, and a stained chair. The only lighting was provided by a fluorescent light on the ceiling. The room lacked the washbasin promised in the description - not even a hanger was available to hang your jacket. The bedsheet was dirty. On the 2nd floor, more than a dozen rooms shared only two toilets, including also showers, which meant that when someone decided to enjoy a long shower, the rest waited for their turn. Worst of all, however, was waking up to discover that I hadn’t spent the night alone, but with bedbugs! As a souvenir, I left with clusters of itchy bites and the anxiety of what to do with my luggage to ensure the tiny bloodsuckers wouldn’t travel home with me. There is no staff to whom you can report these shotcomings. Emails go unanswered, as do messages sent via the booking site. The price of the room is admittedly low, but even if you are tempted by a small saving, the place is not worth it.

レイキャビクから25km、ケプラヴィーク空港から67kmの半島にある宿泊施設です。2回別で宿泊したのですが室内に洗面所のある部屋とない部屋があるようです。周辺に何もない為とても静かでゆっくり過ごせました。

レイキャビクから車で30分程の半島にあり、周辺に何もない為とても静かに過ごすことが出来ます。チェックイン2日前に部屋番号と暗証番号が送られ24時間入室可能。シャンプー類はありませんので持参が必要、滞在は2Fでしたが10程度の部屋数に対してトイレ、シャワーは3つあり十分足ります。ゲストハウスとありますが日本でいう研修施設のようなものでゆったりしています。色々コストのかかるアイスランドではおすすめかと思います。

Reservamos 2 habitaciones individuales primero y posteriormente lo mismo al día posterior. Así que teniamos 2 habitaciones durante dos días seguidos. Como se reservaron mediante 2 reservas preguntamos si había algún problema en disponer de la misma habitación dos día seguidos a lo que los contestaron que no había problema. La reserva se realizó en junio y el alojamiento era para agosto. Nuestra sorpresa es que tres días antes de llegar solo anulan 1 habitación una noche argumentando problemas de fontanería. A lo cual solicitamos la posibilidad de incluir una segunda cama en la otra habitación no cancelada. Nunca nos contestaron. Además sal llegar allí no existía ningún problema de fontanería. Una pena terminar así xq el sitio estaba mal ubicado pero era acogedor. En fin.....no lo recomiendo

Peaceful place to stay away from the city

The guesthouse and its location were very good. Due to its remote location, the best way to commute is by taking a rental car. It was a bit strange that Google maps doesn't have the route map for the last 1.5km to the guesthouse. However, there was a signboard to the guesthouse which helped. The stay was pleasant and the kitchen & bathrooms were in very good condition. The only downside was that our grocery items were stolen from the common refrigerator. So, please be careful and store the non-perishable goods in the room instead of the refrigerator.
