Travelers need to understand that Nantucket is a serene, unplugged,and historic place. The Martin House is an excellent example of a historic house turned into a boutique B & B (breakfast is light continental). There is no elevator. You walk the stairs if you are staying on the 2nd or 3rd floor. We had a wonderful time here. Everything was a short walk from the Martin House. The manager, David, was gracious and accommodating and his homemade granola was excellent. Pastry choices were outstanding. Coffee, water, and tea were available all day. The open sitting area was relaxing and pristine. Staying at the Martin House is an excellent way to disconnect from the busy world and relax in Nantucket. Highly recommend.

The Inn was well maintained. I'm not really a bed and breakfast person, but Martin House Inn was located only a half mile from the ferry terminals, which was important to me. My room was quaint, clean and had a private bathroom. There was no elevator, and I had to carry my suitcase to the third floor. I would stay here again.

Room decor and entire house was clean and charming. In room bathroom was incredibly small. Thermostat and heater were not in sync. I had it set at 65 and it was very warm. I had the window open in November. House keeping service was great. I enjoyed my stay because I was at an off season rate. If I paid top dollar, I would be more annoyed.

It was a lovely inn and suited my needs for a spontaneous trip. The small details prevented it being a five star overnight. The body wash and conditioner units in the shower were empty. No travel lids for the coffee cups available. Would have been nice to see an employee at one point during my stay.

The room was clean, keys were left in envelopes for guests. Didn’t meet the owner til the next day when I couldn’t find my key, he came with a spare and I was able to find my original key later in the day. Was disappointed that there was no television in the room, and felt it should have been mentioned in the amenities. Another guest I spoke to also found it odd. The walls are very thin, so I got to hear a lot! The owner didn’t seem very concerned when I mentioned both things. Only saw him twice! The woman who cleaned the rooms was very nice and friendly!

Eh it’s ok, wouldn’t stay here again. There are no televisions in the room, walls are paper thin and there is not anyone at a front desk. Slight odor of cigarettes in our room. I’ve been to Nantucket many times and while this stay was adequate it’s not a place I’ll stay at again.
