“We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Castillo. The terrace had an amazing view of Arenal volcano, and we saw so many birds in the backyard. It was amazing to have coffee in morning and watch clouds roll through valley and listen to birdsong. The location is convenient for getting to Fortuna and nearby parks for hiking, but Castillo feels much more quaint and quiet for enjoying peaceful evenings. “The photos do not do the house justice. On arrival the house was clean and had all of the necessary kitchen and bathroom essentials. Each room had an individual bathroom with shower that had good pressure. The view of the arenal volcano was breath taking and the pool was a perfect way to stay cool down in the heat. Disclaimer the pool structure is made of a cement type of material and we did get some scrapes, but nothing too bad. Also, there is no jacuzzi it is simply a “water feature”. In……

“Beautiful and unique surroundings. Very comfortable, had everything we needed, enjoyed the hot tub and views, ample room for all 9 of us.”

“The owners were lovely and gave us a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom cabin which was ideal for us with 2 young children. It had a well equipt kitchen. We did have a few ants coming in but when we told the owner they came down to spray the cabin. Great having a pool at the property for unwinding after a busy day in nature. The town was a 5 minute drive and it was really easy and cheap to get taxis there. Would definitely recommend staying here.”

The house is very modern and gorgeous, we didn’t have a chance to use the kitchen but it seems well stocked. The house is about 20 minutes from La Fortuna, it was perfect for us! “Loved the cabin and the setting. Clean and comfortable with amazing forest views. Getting checked in was a bit of a process. Have to call a property manager who drives out to the cabin to let you in. We arrived at check in time and waited almost an hour to be let into the cabin. Call well ahead of arrival time. Otherwise a good stay and a great value.”
