I stayed for 2 nights for a conference and didn’t feel like I was right in the heart of Nashville, but took 10 min Ubers to everywhere I needed to go. The second night the uber driver said it wasn’t a great neighborhood but I didn’t have any trouble or feel unsafe. The staff was excellent!

The bathroom had mold on the walls, the bedroom had mold all over the ceiling. I sneezed constantly while I was in the room. The hallways smelled extremely musty. Front desk was not very accommodating. We ran out of toilet paper, asked front desk, Clark for some. She said she didn’t have any, and came across like she wanted us to change our minds on needing toilet paper. There was a homeless person sitting in the lobby, and there was no staff there to tell him to leave. There was a woman on drugs in the breakfast area, eating with us.

The hotel seemed to need a lot of repair. There was a strange chemical smell in the hallways. There was also a dehumidifier in the hall. I wondered if sprinkler system had recently gone off. The beds were somewhat comfortable, but the pillows were terrible and flat. We stayed for three nights and never saw housekeeping. The hotel is in a sketchy part of town. Every morning there was someone outside asking for money, and there were people constantly walking out into traffic that looked as if they were on the edge of overdose. I was worried my truck might be vandalized.

The room was filthy. Tub very slow to drain. Room furniture battered and chipped. Light bulbs out. Greasy hand prints on headboard. Carpet stains. Hairs on “clean” towels. Elevator and common area were also bad. The other big problem for the Best Western was the neighborhood is filled with homeless. Vacant lot next door was a gathering spot. A bus shelter in front of the hotel was a sleeping area for several homeless, while others slept or wandered all night. The hotel’s cement wall in the back was topped with razor wire. Homeless need places to sleep but I hate to see them living rough and some have issues that can be threatening. On one side of the BW is an abandoned motel. Couldn’t some of them stay there? Regardless, this place is terrible.
