The room was spacious with a lovely bath and balcony overlooking the beach and pool. Old style furniture and comfortable bed. Staff very attentive. Pools both great with most sunbeds in a sandy area next to the main pool. Beach ideal for a walk and to take in local life. Road outside has lots of shops and restaurants. Hours cruise in the lagoon recommended - as is this hotel.

This is the third time I have stayed at Jetwing Beach on a stopover to India. It is convenient to the airport. The rooms are comfortable and many overlook the beach. It is very quiet, and the breakfast is fabulous (particularly the Sri Lankan curry. Yum!).

What a perfect start to a holiday in Sri Lanka. The staff were incredible and this hotel is beautifully located on the beach. We loved taking time to relax and also wonder up the beach to see the local fisherman bringing their catch in. We even had a beautiful meal under the stars. Would 100% recommend!

The hotel has a wonderful location right on a beautiful beach with reasonable access to the Colombo Airport. The facilities were dated but reasonable. It was pretty empty which did not add to the ambiance. They served a nice breakfast.

The hotel's position on the beach is fantastic and the room (first floor, beach facing) was also excellent. However, for a supposedly 5 star hotel the breakfast was utterly dire. I guess that as there were so few guests, it was a la carte but the quality of the food was terrible. Stale pastries, bread came only in the form of half toasted slices of supermarket loaves of processed bread. Ask for more than one luke-warm, half filled latte and it was an additional charge. The food generally was much lower quality than the far cheaper BOHO Cafe 2 mins down the street next to Jetwing Blue. Even the staff at the Beach told me that the Blue was far better. Furthermore the gym, while adequate, hasn't seen a penny invested in it from the 1980s. Overall, the Beach was a miss as there are better hotels near by.

Nice place to relax

Lovely large room, with bath and enormous shower cubicle. Bed was big and comfy. Pool areas good. Takes some energy to put in a length! Straight out onto the beach. Great bar area to watch the sun go down and a 2 hr happy hour.

Disappointing. The hotel has spacious rooms and good grounds. The beach is public but a lot of hawkers trying to approach and every night loud music until past midnight.However the service is very disorganised - from not finding the reservation at check in, to it taking ages to get dinner/bill (2 courses over 3 hours). The worst was the check out: trying to charge for a room that has been paid upfront and then charges being put together with a calculator. You are only permitted to see an itemised bill AFTER having paid.
