Perched on a cliff high above the Guadalupe River is the picturesque Clutter Falls Retreat. This custom built river retreat offers spectacular hill country views with soothing sounds of the rapids and falls below. Clutter Falls Retreat offers two houses the Main House and the Guest House each property offers privacy and is reserved separately. The Main House located in New Braunfels offers a perfect location for a fabulous family getaway.

With 3 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths, Clutter Falls- Main House will accommodate up to 8 guests. Guests will relish in the inviting hot tub for an evening under the stars.*This property overlooks the Guadalupe River but DOES NOT have River access*

This splendid two story property has everything one could need for a relaxing vacation. With carefully chosen pieces this home has a rustic upscale river home feel. Appreciate the beautiful views of the river from almost every angle in this home. Guests will find plenty of room for everyone with three spacious bedrooms and two and half generous baths.

Guests will find this kitchen inviting with a full gourmet kitchen, preparing your favorite meals will be effortless. Admire the beautiful countertops and rich leather bar seating. Clutter Falls' lavish kitchen opens up to a stately dining area with seating for six, and a grand rock fireplace, the perfect space for hosting meals with family and friends.

Relax in the living space overlooking gorgeous hill country views. Expertly decorated with rustic and leather furnishings giving this river house a modern clean feel. Take in the breathtaking views of the Guadalupe River on the rich leather sofa or enjoy watching television on the large flat screen.

Refresh in one of the three luxurious bedrooms each with specifically upscale pieces and refined linens for a comfortable night's sleep. The downstairs master hosts a king bed with an attached bathroom with a shower. Upstairs offers two bedrooms, one bedroom with a queen and one bedroom with a full bed. Freshen up in a full bath with shower upstairs.

Clutter Falls offers an ideal outdoor entertainment area for family and friends. With multiple outdoor decks and plenty of seating, guests will enjoy beautiful views while dining al fresco. Relax on the welcoming porch swing with soothing sounds of the river. For an evening under the stars, enjoy an inviting hot tub located on the lower level deck.

Looking for an outing for the day, Clutter Falls is less than a mile from the historic Gruene Hall, enjoy music and dancing, or dine at the delicious Gristmill Restaurant. Gruene offers an outdoor market, wine tasting, and many delicious restaurants. Only minutes away is New Braunfels with plenty to do: float the beautiful Guadalupe River, rent paddle boats or picnic at Landa Park, swim at the Spring Fed Pool, spend the day at Schlitterbahn Water Park, or visit one of the local wineries or breweries for wine or beer tasting. Visit Wimberley and spend the day shopping in the downtown square, or swimming, and hiking at the famous Jacobs Well, Zip Line Adventure, or Blue Hole regional Park offers swimming and nature trails. Canyon Lake is only 30 minutes away and there is plenty of outdoor fun to be found. The James C Curry Nature preserve is great for hiking, or biking trails. Canyon Lake offers daily pontoon and boat rentals and so much more.

This is a nice property. Awesome location with a great view. We had a fantastic time while we were there. However, the house needed a serious scrubbing. I’m not one to complain but when the couple we were with mentioned it I knew I wasn’t being picky. It was actually a bit embarrassing. We were in Gruene for a family wedding and part of my party were in the groom/bridal party. We arrived at a beautifully furnished home overlooking the river. Five friendly deer welcomed us as we drove down the drive. The sounds of the rushing water from the river were fantastic. I am about as patient and understanding as they come. Things do happen. It was 76 degrees inside when we arrived at 8pm and 82 degrees the next morning. The air-conditioner was not cooling and it took several hours and ALOT of back and forth with management to get a repairman out. That is just not ok, especially when traveling with a 2 year old. The place was also not very clean, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the location to the historic district of Gruene, as well as river access for tubing, swimming etc., was great. If the property management can get a better handle on their cleaning and maintenance services, this could be a perfect choice!

The property was clean, the listing photos were accurate, and it had great amenities. We particularly loved the view from the upper deck. Adding or updating the patio furniture on the upper deck would be a nice touch.

The house itself is so cute! Bedrooms we only used 2 out of the 3 but they were all very comfortable. The balcony is great to sit out on, but the outdoor furniture needs some updating. It is pretty run down and I feel the outside is a big plus for the house so the fact that the out door furniture was run down was kinda disappointing. I’m putting this in here because I asked twice about early check in and was told to check the day of due to the cleaning crew. We were driving around 6 hours and trying to make dinner reservations. The towels in the bathrooms smelt like they were sour. So I was pretty disappointed by that. It is very close to everything so we enjoyed that. Overall it was a nice stay.

The house is conveniently located near Gruene and sits above the river. The patio provides a great setting to enjoy the sounds of the river peacefully in the morning. Everything was as stated in the listing. The kitchen has everything you need to utilize it for your needs fully. Bring shoes for the hot tub as it is down a rocky path. My only suggestion to the host is to consider providing extra towels for the hot tub and perhaps a couple of hooks near the hot tub to hang said towels. I suggest this location for your next stay!

The house was clean and beautiful, the porches were wonderful. Yes, I noticed the worn arm on the upstairs balcony couch, but if it bothers someone, there are SO many other places to sit, and in one upstairs bedroom, a bed is against the wall.... but a twin bed would mean less sleeping room. I really wonder about some of these reviewers! The home is so welcoming and wonderful. The living areas, bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, well appointed and comfortable. There was a small amount of basics (a few rolls of paper goods, hand soaps, etc), making it feel more "home-y" than most VRBOs. We only used the downstairs bed, which was very comfortable; though we didn't use the others, they "felt" like good mattresses. The view and sound of the river from the balconies was wonderful. I understand why there is no access to the river, as it is far below and walk access to the river requires BOTH safe access AND ownership of the banks, which may not be the case. There were fresh eggs available for purchase across the road from a neighbor providing us a lovely breakfast several mornings of our stay. We could not have been more pleased with the property!

We had a ladies weekend and really enjoyed the property. The beds were comfy, the kitchen & living area spacious and views gorgeous. The only complaint I would have is the checkout time. There were 4 adults and we had to pack up the food we brought, load our cars, take out the trash, stack up the linens, etc. all by 10am. We felt like we were rushing around trying to get out in time.
