“We took our niece, nephews and grandson away for a mini vacation and to celebrate my husband’s 62nd birthday. I highly recommend this beautiful home to stay in. Very quiet, clean and easy access to the lake, basketball courts and pool area. Unfortunately it was the wrong time of the year so the pool wasn’t open but it overlooks the lake and mountains surround you. Kids had a blast.”

“Enjoyed a nice weekend with my adult son and my dog Lily at this log cabin that was located halfway between where both of us live. It was a bit rainy, but we were able to enjoy some nice walks outside. We enjoyed cooking together, playing games, and watching movies. We especially enjoyed being able to hang out on the porch, where there was a nice breeze.”

“We really enjoyed staying at the Tar Heel House. It was just what we were looking for on our long weekend getaway with friends and family. It’s nestled back in the woods which gives you the feeling of being in the mountains. Every room in the house offered amazing views of the lake. Easy access putting the boats in at the marina. Lots of open water for skiing, wake surfing and tubing. The fishing was great as well. We caught a variety brim, crappy and catfish. We will definitely be booking and……

“Nice wooded lot, clean home. Dogs loved playing fetch around the home. “Lived” on the lower level where the shower and king bed were. Convenient drive and door so items could be unloaded from the car.”

“Had to call about check in due to the code wasnt set as my last 4 digits of my phone number as was stated in check in email. Quick call and the girl at the office updated the code so we were able to get in. The property looked like the pictures. There wasnt any lights going down the stairs to the dock. It would be really helpful to have them at night time. I personally dont like the door knobs for the outside doors. If your going to have door knobs like that its a must to have a dead bolt. When……

“This home has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved the electric fireplaces, is it was cool in the evenings and they added a wonderful warmth to the rooms. Although we may never need a place in this area again, we would absolutely stay here.”

After visiting the NC Zoo, this was a perfect location to extend our family fun with great water views and plenty of outdoor and indoor amenities. We especially enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and lounging on the screened-in porch. The game room was a big hit for all ages - Pop-a-Shot basketball, karaoke, air hockey, ping pong, pool and so much more. The house was immaculate and the hosts were exceptionally accommodating……
