I had to booked to stay overnight. When I arrived. I checked in approx 2045. Went to room. Seemed to be dirty room, as edges of carpet not hoovered. mattress exposed appeared tired. Hallway on 2nd floor smelled of weed and urine. The door just next to mines had been kicked off the hinges. Was wide open with damage. I raised issue with Khizai, I checked out and didn't stay as didn't feel safe. As seems to be shady individuals dealing drugs at the premises. I have messaged for resolution but no response to my messages and Expedia have tried to contact hotel twice, but nothing so will leave negative review. I would find somewhere else to stay as only positive is that the KFC and Mcdonalds are local. I checked out and paid for late 7hr coach ride home to London rather than stay there for the night.

Let me tell you the Customer service is wonderful! However, there were no soap, shower gel and shampoo. All empty! the breakfast was free wonderful continental breakfast. Fresh breakfast sandwiches and omelettes.

Nobody at check in when we arrived so waited for 20 minutes outside. The receptionist later explained that she was also doing the rooms and there was no longer a device to let her know we were waiting, hotel needs to employ more cleaners! Very professional receptionists both morning and evening!

TVs in 2 rooms not working. Room cleaning not available “due to staff illness”. Lots of litter in car park. Derelict restaurant boarded up next door. Charges for car park. Main door locked at 4pm and I had to be let in - doesn’t suggest area is safe? 2 mile walk into town in very dull along a dual carriageway and nearest metro station 20 mins away. But clean and staff were pleasant.

As I pulled into the car park it dawned on me that I had stayed there before but it had been a Premier Inn back then. I am not sure why it was no longer part of that chain but it hadn't really changed. It was the same as it used to be. It was clean and tidy and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. One word of warning: On their website they say they are in walking distance of the city centre amenities such as the Emporium Theatre (which is why we were there). We used Google maps to plan our walk and when it suggested it would take 50 mins we decided that was a little too much of a stroll to the theatre and back. Other than that this is a very good, value for money, hotel with lovely staff.
