  • Acorn cottage is a spacious one bedroom cottage with a sensitive application of traditional and modern facilities and equipped to a high standard and level of comfort. The large light and airy lounge/diner situated upstairs features a log burner to ensure you remain cosy and comfortable on cold evenings.
    The attractive patio which is accessed from the lounge is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the beautiful Devon countryside.
    Centrally located in the picture postcard village of Stokeinteignhead with the benefit of a well stocked village shop and the highly rated pub 'The Church House Inn' just a stroll away. (Closed on Mondays)
    lf you want to venture further we can recommend fabulous pubs & restaurants in the area, with excellent reviews.
    We are just a short distance from Shaldon, the Teign estuary and the South Devon coast path offering some fabulous views to sea, the rolling Devon countryside and Just a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach at Maidencombe.
    Within a short drive there are several other beaches, the Torbay Riviera, golf courses & the stunning Dartmoor National Park-which is well worth a visit.
    With so many places to see you really are spoilt for choice, making this charming cottage a perfect escape for couples who wish to explore this lovely area.
    So make yourself comfortable, relax and enjoy a glass of wine with our compliments!

A lovely and well equipped cottage in a quiet village with a nice pub and village shop in walking distance, and just a few minutes from local towns, walks and beaches - perfect for a couple who want to explore the area. The hosts were great and we really enjoyed our stay - I think we will likely be back,,,

Wer sich Devon ansehen möchte und das Leben auf dem Land erleben möchte ist hier genau richtig. Abends einen Agatha Christie Film ansehen und man meint, ich bin Mitten im Filmset. Supernette Vermieter, saubere Unterkunft, uriger Pub mit leckerem Essen 100 Meter entfernt. Wenn Devon, dann nur diese Unterkunft.

We had a really lovely time. Maddy and her husband are such warm and welcoming hosts. They were always up for a quick chat and happy to give us tips on places to visit. We really enjoyed the cosy little terrace :) We’d love to come back!

Fantastic stay. Maddy and Godfry were great hosts. The cottage is perfect. Lovely little garden with Wysteria flowers for your morning coffee. 800 year old pub literally across the road. Great rural Devon walks. Loved the place

The cottage is very well equipped and was extremely clean. The owner was very responsive to queries and made sure that we had no issues. I would very highly recommend this property. The village does require travel down some narrow country lanes but the cottage itself is worth the trip.

Lovely hosts who were very welcoming and helpful with ideas of what to do.Accommodation was clean and perfect for 2 people with everything that you needed.Village shop and pub 40 yards down the road.Very quiet location but in a good location to go out to places.Would recommend and we hope to return.

Es war eine wunderschöne Woche.Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl in der traumhaften Wohnung.Das kleine Dorf ist wie in einem Bilderbuch.Devon ist einfach eine sagenhafte Gegend, mit Steilküsten, Stränden und beschaulichen Häfen. Ein schönes, kleines, gut ausgestattetes Cottage im Inneren einer Hofanlage mit einer abgeschirmten Sitzecke und ganz viel Ruhe. Freundliche Vermieter und Dorfbewohner. Der kleine Dorfladen deckt die Grundbedürfnisse und der Pub hat leckeres Essen. Der nahegelegene Küstenweg lässt sich in beide Richtungen gut laufen. Ein kleinerer Mietwagen ist zu empfehlen, da das Dorf- wie gefühlt alle Dörfer in Südengland - nur über kleine einspurige Straßen zu erreichen ist. Wir haben die Unterkunft als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Cornwall (1,5 bis 2 Stunden) und in Devon sowie Wanderungen im Dartmoor NP ( ca 1 Stunde) genutzt.

The cottage was warm and welcoming on arrival with lovely christmas decorations and a basket of goodies. The log burner was perfect for cold evenings. It was ideally positioned for sightseeing. The local pub across the road is ideal for an evening meal or just drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
