Home away from home

Antonella, our host, made sure to make us feel very welcome. She also let us use the kitchen and the fridge which was great and we were allowed to spend time playing board games on the dining room table which was perfect for us. It was just like being at home bur with a lot of peace and quiet.

Séjour très agréable à Sotto il vilcano.

Les propriétaires sont adorables et ils se mettent en quatre pour vous faire découvrir leur région... Et que dire du petit déjeuner : un buffet gigantesque sucrée et salé, et plein de bonne chose fait maison ...! Surtout n’hésitez a vous rendre dans ce charmant Bed and Breakfast, nous nous reviendrons c'est une certitude....

Eine super gelegene Unterkunft mit einer herzlichen Betreiberin. Maria hat das mit Abstand beste Frühstück des gesamten Urlaubs serviert. Auch die Nähe zum Ätna ist super. Wir werden auf jeden Fall nochmal wiederkommen.

Отличное место для похода на Этну. Уютный В&В с невероятно гостеприимными хозяевами и богатым завтраком. Мое личное мнение - на вулкан стоит ходить с гидом. Да, стоит это 95 евро с носа и требует неплохой физической формы, но впечатлений море. После похода можно пойти поужинать в уютный центр Николози. Цены вполне приемлемые. Стейк с гарниром стоит 12 евро

Perfect place to explore THE Etna

We got a very warm welcome from Salvatore and Antonella and felt immediately "at home". Salvatore gave us valuable recommendations in terms of excursions and places to eat. The breakfast had many different choices - even home baked cake which was delicious.We had a great stay in Nicolosi!

Good position and great breakfast.

We got a warm welcome from Antonella & Salvatore, who also gave good advice on where to visit. Rooms very comfortable, wifi very good, and breakfast extremely good! Parking area and close to Nicolosi centre where you can find great food.Good position, would gladly go again.

Friendly and welcoming hotel on the slopes of Etna

I spent three very agreeable nights at Sotto il Vulcano. It is a friendly, family run business which, as the name suggests, is ideally placed for those wishing to explore Etna and the surrounding national park. Antonella is a most welcoming and helpful hostess who is able to advise on all the various options, while her husband specialises in cycling tours. Fortunately for me, non-cyclists are also superbly catered for: there is free parking on site and the hotel is close enough to Catania and the autostrada to make day trips to Syracuse, Taormina etc easy, while offering peace, quiet and mountain air at the end of the day. The small town of Nicolosi has a number of excellent evening eating options within 20 minutes walk though they need to go some to match the breakfast spread provided by Antonella! All in all, I heartily recommend Sotto il Vulcano and will be looking to return there in the future.

Je ne fais que répéter les avis précédents. Excellent accueil d'Antonella et de Salvo. Nous sommes restés malheureusement qu'une seule nuit et avons savouré qu'un seul petit déjeuner. Salvo s'est levé tôt pour nous éplucher des figues de barbarie avant notre journée à l'Etna, réservée par leur intermédiaire auprès de Pietro, super guide parlant très bien Français. L'excursion en sa compagnie était géniale ! A recommander

Very charming couple who runs the B&B. They do everything that you can enjoy your stay. Relatively difficult to find but you can phone and they will guide you.

arrivée tardive mais nous avons été accueillies de façon remarquable : nous avons eu un en cas copieux, les conseils de visites, petit déjeuner très agréable avec jus de fruits frais, confitures maison, laitages, gâteaux.... à volonté et dans un cadre familial. Accueil parfait et localisation idéale pour l'Etna

Propriétaires adorables qui donnent des conseils (ne pas hésiter à demander ce qu'il y a à faire dans les environs en fonction de ce qui vous intéresse). Une petit déjeuner hallucinant ! Proche des restaurants (10min à pied) et de l'Etna (30min). Syracuse et Taormina sont à 1h. Très bien situé et paisible.

Que du bien et du bonheur à dire sur ce séjour à l'hôtel Sotto il Vulcano.Un accueil chaleureux au possible par Antonella et son époux. Des conseils, des réservations pour les volcans, prêt de vêtements chauds, un petit déjeuner époustouflant avec spécialités locales comme crème de pistache...Parking gratuit sur place, jardin. Repos et vraies vacances garanties.

au pied de l'Etna

Situé à 25 mn de voiture du parking de l'ETNA, ce B and B est vraiment agréable, l'accueil est sympathique, les chambres très propres ( mais odeur de javel heureusement vite dissipée en ouvrant les fenêtres) et les conseils de la maîtresse de maison sont pertinents (2 excellents restaurants conseillés à 10 mn à pied). Petit conseil, pour l'Etna: habillez-vous chaudement (la meteo peut changer en 5mn), chaussures de randonnées conseillées mais pas obligatoires (baskets ok), évitez de prendre le 4x4 au terminus des télé-cabines, la montée à pied est vraiment faisable et vous permet de vous arrêter pour admirer le paysage

Very pleasant stay at "Sotto il Vulcano"

Upon our arrival we received a friendly and warm welcome from our hosts. A lot of information concerning the activities possibile (Etna) was available and they actively organised the expedition. The host's knowledge of the English language was very helpful.. Our stay at "Sotto il vulcano" was thus very enjoyable and restfull. We highly recommand this B&B.

Excellent B&B for Etna

This is a comfortable, clean and welcoming B&B. The hosts are great and treat everyone like family. A great breakfast is served at one big table where there was much talking and lauging - in several languages. Hosts Antonella and Salvatore reminded us many times that they were "at our disposal". They were helpful with planning and very knowledgable about local sites. Kitchen is available for use by guests throughout the afternoon and evening, a small local supermarket is nearby.

Sicilian hospitality at its BEST !!

This was a great place to stay. Room was comfortable and clean,bedding changed regularily. Breakfast was excellent,fresh and good choice.Antonella and Salvo were superb hosts,they made you feel at home and are very informative about the area.( Also very helpful when I required medication) This is the place to be to visit Mt. Etna. We booked 3 nights but were able to stay 2 more and visited other places on the Island recommended by our hosts.
