"This was my favorite accommodation in Japan. It was very cozy and made me feel home. We had the Sennari room. There were 4 beds in two rooms but we only used two. There was a microwave, fridge, kitchen sink with dishes/soap, washer/dryer, kitchen table, sofa. It was two levels with bedrooms upstairs. We never saw our host. It was self check in with a code. "I enjoyed the breakfast! It was one of the best breakfast so far. It had lots of choices from traditional Japanese to western choices. I appreciated it learning and tasting the Japanese breakfast as I am here to do so. The room was clean and quiet. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I wished we had a better view of the city but we got the wall and roof of the building next to us. I like that it was very close to the bus station and that we were able to leave our luggage before we checked in so we could explore the city. The staff was very helpful in providing us with information. They were also very friendly and polite. The staff is what makes a hotel experience excellent!"

"We were made to feel exceptionally welcomed on arrival by the staff. The place was comfortable and clean, the staff extremely attentive, and we were provided with every amenity required. We felt that the offer of the Yukatas and sleeping garments were really considerate. We enjoyed the carefully curated dishes for dinner. Really exceptional service, this is how luxury travel used to feel and sadly has been lost in many places in more modern times. Highly rated. Takayama was the highlight of our visit."

"The hotel is very conveniently located. It’s 5 minutes away from the train and the tour bus stations and 10 to 15 minutes away from the major attractions. I only used taxis once in hope to see the Golden Temple but be aware that most temples close at 4 PM in Takayama. All the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. I’d say 70 % speak English but have your Google Translate ready to use. Good breakfast. People enjoyed the onsen and told me great things about it. Small bathroom. Daily housekeeping service was impeccable. I would stay here again if I come to Takayama."

"From the very start to the very finish of our stay, my family and I felt so very welcomed. The hotel was extremely clean and orderly. This particular hotel is very cozy. The onsen bath/ ofuro was extremely relaxing, clean, and refreshing. The staff are above and beyond professional and extremely courteous. We will definitely come back to stay at this hotel. We highly recommend this hotel after a long day of hiking and sightseeing."
