Family Place

Good place to stay. Close walk to beach, pool was great and house was spacious for our family. Had a few issues to start with, but was corrected. Host manager was pleasant to deal with. Overall, we had a great time and would book this place again. Great for family.

Very nice location. Very close to the beach. The house was very roomy and the open lay out allows for large groups to gather for meals and fun!

Great location

Absolutely amazing location just a short walk to the beach. Fantastic space and amenities inside. The trash bins outside were full and we had no broom to sweep up messes. Other than that our stay was perfect.

We greatly enjoyed Tropical Rays North. We didn't have A/C or hot water on the 3rd story for the first 24 hours of our stay, but this was promptly resolved by management. Only other issue was the tile floors could have been cleaned better prior to our stay. The pool was beautiful, clean & well maintained. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Very Nasty

The house is roomy and could have been very nice if it wasn't soo filthy! Smelly, molded food was left in the 3rd floor microwave. When opened - flies went everywhere. We had to wash all dishes & silverware before using. We should be reimbused for cleaning!

Spacious and beautiful for group vacation location perfect.

Beautiful house and the location nice so close to ocean. As group had a wonderful time. But a couple of things that we were not happy with the house was not given on time. The refrigerator closest to laundry room the freezer part is not freezing we bought ice cream it melted. And the sheet in the living room pull out sofa was dirty. Besides that we enjoyed our vacation and would recommend to other and would come again.

Do not stay here unless you want to be highly disappointed

If I could give this house 0 stars, I would, but in order to leave this review I have to leave 1 star. This house failed to mention any where in the listing that it was a DUPLEX and not a house alone. So be aware that this house is a DUPLEX and so you will have to share the pool and parking underneath the house. The listing of course has now been updated to say that this is a duplex. The house was filthy when we arrived for our stay. There was a missing window in one of the bedrooms with a piece of plywood over the window. The property manager knew nothing of this, which meant no one had been to the house to inspect it and the cleaners failed to report this issue. No one from Carolina Palms, which is the rental company, thought it was a big deal that the window was like this and that it was a huge safety hazard as this window was on the 2nd floor of the house and that when storms come through, damp air come through the cracks of said plywood in the window which can over time cause black mold. There were also exposed wires everywhere in the house. VRBO and Carolina Palms deemed these issues as “minor issues”. Also, after conversation with the property manager, they stopped replying to my messages and the head of the company, Chris, failed to reply to my email I sent regarding all of these issues which is VERY unprofessional. Hope this helps anyone who wants to stay here. Just be aware that this is the surprise you are in for!

The good and the bad

The property is in a perfect location. Easy walk to the beach, showers outside to rinse off, nice amenities. When we arrived, there were two plumber vans and a giant ditch along one side of the property. We were told there was no sewage hooked up at the time and they were sure it would be back working by 5 pm. I called and texted the property manager she responded that she would check on it and get back to me. We began unpacking and by 5 pm the plumbers were done and we could use every toilet but the main level toilet (it was locked and the door frame and shoe molding around that bathroom were missing). The first bedroom upstairs had plywood for the bottom half of the window. One of the two stoves did not work and one of the microwaves were missing the front cover for the venting system. There were gnat traps that needed to be replaced, as the gnats started showing up as soon as we started preparing food. The kitchen is well stocked (we did run out of coffee cups in the morning) and we were able to cook dinner and brunch for 17 adults. While cooking brunch there was a spark and the one stove that was working was no longer working. We eventually found the circuit breaker and was able to reset it. The company did send someone out to look at everything but it didn't happen until the afternoon. When the oven was pulled out, it was disgusting- old food and drips all down the side. Of course, my oven might look like that and I would never know :). The amount of space is amazing. The main level floor is bright and open. There were stains on some of the chairs in the living room and many of the dinning rooms chairs are very wobbly. All that said, I know it's hard to maintain a house this size with so many people coming and going. The property manager did call/text me back. We were never able to use the main floor toilet, which was very inconvenient. The floors/counter tops/towels/linens were very clean. Bathrooms were clean with minor wear and tear. Refrigerators and microwaves were clean inside. Loved having two refrigerators and two dishwashers. We had a great time celebrating my boss's retirement and would book again. If you're super OCD or always stay at fancy hotels, this is not the place for you. Did have a hard time reaching someone with questions prior to the trip but had excellent response while there (even if it wasn't the answer I wanted to hear). Thank you Natalie and Alley for answering all my questions on a weekend!!

Decent Spacious Duplex close to the beach

If you're looking for a spacious place with lots of beds and rooms close to the beach - this is for you. There are a few things that need to be addressed: - Cleaning wasn't finished on time for check in (4PM) - Rental company had to be called and contacted through VRBO to get the check in details 10 minutes before check in because I hadn't received them - The check in email that came in 10 minutes before check in listed all of the things that were "suggested to bring" like toilet paper, kitchen necessities, etc. -they provided 2 rolls of toilet paper and 1 paper towel. -the place overall was dirty (stained sheets, dirty floors, broken ironing board, minimal dishware, no broom for sand. This place has great space and is in a great location. If the check in email came earlier so that we were bettter prepared and the cleaning was more thourough it would be a suitable place to stay. Telling 16 people you suggest bringing chairs, towels, and TP 10 minutes before check in is unacceptable. Finally, it should be clear that this duplex shares a pool with the other half of the building. Another family was in the pool during our entire stay and we didn't get to utilize it - I think that should be explicitly stated in the description. This place has potential but was a miss for us.

Could of been lots better

Place was dirty, outdated furniture and some chairs unsafe. Had to spend 6 hours cleaning pool deck from prior group. Broken glass, beer caps, meat bones and lots of dirt and debris on pool deck. Outside grills unusable because excess leftover food and ash. Door security system battery cover kept coming off and batteries fell out. No coffee mugs, glasses and 1 coffee maker had no carafe. Floor wash was very sticky and oh so dirty. Spent 3 hours cleaning inside. Total of 6 hours of cleaning, after dpending this kind of money should I have to clean anytime? Couldn't use pool first night as last group left some much junk in pool. Called the manager and never got a response. Sent emails but had to ask again next day. Live people do not exsist at this property, they only wish to not talk to you. Lots of loveing care is needed at this place. Please be careful on what you see in pictures. Checked out today and still have not heard from anybody on my issues.

Perfect location and great space

We had a great week at the beach. This house was super close to the beach and the pool was very nice too. When a problem came up with the pool they were very quick to come out and fix it. There was plenty of space for a large group of people and have 2 of everything in the kitchen helped to feed everyone.

Amazing location in Cherry Grove

The house was located in a great area, but we did have to deal with a trash situation. The garbage cans on the street were completely full from the time we arrived until we checked out. This made it difficult for us to dispose of our trash properly. Also there are no additional bathroom supplies (toilet paper, soap, etc.) provided for the guests either. Other than that we enjoyed our time and had a great stay!

OVERCHARGED FOR NO REASON

The stay we had was fine. However the customer experience was ridiculous. First of all, there was no hot water at all on the third floor. Even with contacting them, the issue never got fixed. I asked if it was possible to take my puppy, but did not receive an answer in a timely manner, so we left my pet at home. They now claim that there was pet feces left in a trash can, when we did not have a pet on the premises. We removed all the trash from the house, and they claimed we left a box and trash bags full of trash. Supposedly there was also a broken light cover. After asking for proof of these things, they never sent me the pictures. We were charged extra with no proof of anything. I requested that the photos be sent, and they responded that they already had. I told them we did not receive the necessary pictures and they ignored my request to send me the pictures or even give me a response. Honestly if it wasn’t for this horrible customer service, everything would have been fine. If you want to pay to pay extra money for no reason at all, book this rental.

Nice size for group but not so good management

Space is nice size, large main floor area for gathering. Plenty of parking. Me and family enjoyed our stay. A few things broke when got there took photos, Hot water not work on third floor in none of the bathrooms, been texting and calling the number provided for reasoning on why I didn’t receive my entire deposit- they are ignoring me, don’t answer my calls, called from different number answered say she was gone send me information still haven’t yet. Claim we left trashed and stains and have photos of it but have yet to send to me, when me and a few family members was up going to room to room collecting trash. Have been using these vaca apps for more than a decade and have never experienced something like this. Dryer works when it want to work. Rail on patio is loose. Hardly any of the TVs actually get reception. But Ayeeeeeeee take ya chances with them if you like! Thanks

Family Get Away

We had a wonderful time of relaxation. There were a list of things noted upon arrival, plus some, that need to be addressed. Response to my email was timely. Thank you for that. Hot water was never achieved on the 3rd floor even if checking the water heater breaker was recommended by property management. The location to beach and surrounding amenities was great.
