"Overall, this house left us wishing we had paid more for a more comfortable stay. The beds were pretty uncomfortable, the house was so rudimentary that every step upstairs was very loud downstairs. The showers didn’t drain as your showered, the sinks don’t have warm water. The plus sides were we were deep the jungle, the host as very responsive, kind and helpful. "Absolutely loved our stay here. A once in a lifetime place to visit. My kids were amazed as it literally looks like you are driving into Jurassic park. Our room was beautiful with a full open view of the volcano and just gle. We woke up to monkeys in the trees, saw probably 100 species of different rainforest moths. Clean and comfortable room. My only issue was that we had several venomous wandering spiders in our hotel room which was quite scary with 2 young children with us. I understand the lodge is very deep in the jungle, but perhaps the lodge could inspect the cabins for good sealing. There are many venomous snakes near the walkways as well. Incredible experience, I would hesitate to go with young children due to the amount of venomous critters. But with older kids and adults it's a once in a lifetime experience."

"Pros: the grounds are really lovely and the pool area is really nice. The male staff were all very cheerful and pleasant whereas the female staff were almost all somewhat scowling and unfriendly. I can’t figure out what that’s about but we all noticed the same. Cons: the food offered at the restaurant is mediocre, limited, and overpriced for what it is, even considering how all food in La Fortuna and in Costa Rica in general is surprisingly expensive. The dinning area while not unattractive, is not particularly attractive. The rooms, while large, leave much to be desired as well with no hooks etc to hang wet towels, a minuscule closet and no other options to store or organize clothes and other things. A bit of of common sense and better management could improve all of the above."
