“We enjoyed our stay along the New River Gorge in Meadow Creek. The bungalow was kept simple with furnishings. The beaded ceiling molding for the walls and the ceiling with the massive baseboards are classic for the era it was built. The updated tub/shower and furnishings made it very comfortable. We enjoyed the trains as they came by. The distant rumble and blowing horns as they passed made it seem like a bygone era. It is a comfortable neighborhood. The mountains surround the town and the……

We hiked some of the trails in the state park across the street and drove to the national park about 20 minutes away. Lovely place and thankful it was pet friendly so we could bring along our dogs! “We stayed here for a couple of nights while traveling from out of state. This home was perfect for us for a family of 7 including a 1 1/2 year old, 3 year old and 2 dogs! It was very clean, big open floor plan which was wonderful. The kitchen had almost any item you may need, as did every part of the home actually. Loved seeing all the linens! “We wanted to see the New River Gorge & surrounding area and the Cardinal Cottage was the perfect place to stay. It had everything we needed including 2 king size beds. It was located in a peaceful setting on 11 acres. Our group consisted of 2 couples around 70 yrs old. The house had easy access and the 2 showers in the bathrooms were easy to get into. The owner was super responsive and answered all of our questions. We had a wonderful week!”

“We had an amazing stay, the location of the house was perfect, and we were in easy reach of all the hikes, climbing, and other activities we planned for the week. Everything was amazing until the area took a direct hit from a tornado knocking out power for the rest of the week. The manager did a good job of communicating with us about the power outage (this house does not have a generator) so the lack of power in the entire area was not what we hoped for on our vacation but is also not the fault……
