We stayed at La Quinta Inn & Suites Ocala from March 5–8, 2026 for the FLAGs North swim meet and were extremely disappointed. We chose this hotel for the location and price, but the conditions were far below acceptable. When we arrived, three police cars were outside. The lobby looked nice, but the elevator was run down, smelly, and dirty. The fifth floor smelled musky and hot, with filthy baseboards and grimy window sills. Our room (516) had tissue stuffed in the peephole, light leaking around the door, and a strong animal-like odor. The bathroom was dirty, with peeling paint, a leaking sink, and grime in the tub. We were given only two towels for a family of four, and the dresser drawers were sticky with items left from a previous guest. Several outlets were broken. Housekeeping never came once during our three-night stay—no fresh towels, no bedding changes, nothing. The pool area was also in poor condition, with bugs, dirt, and leaves in the pool and jacuzzi. The sidewalks were cracked, the jacuzzi wasn’t hot, and our kids came out dirtier than when they went in. The carpet in our room was so dirty that our kids’ legs turned black from playing on the floor. Breakfast was edible, but I found hair in the gravy, which raised more concerns about cleanliness. We understand this is a budget hotel, but the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and basic service made this stay unacceptable. We will not return and cannot recommend this property.

Our bath tub was so filthy that the night manager and another staff member worked for an hour to clean it. The entire property was in such disrepair that this place should be closed. I plan on contacting the local health department with pictures of what we witnessed.

I think you need to do more updates.There was no USB.Ports to plug our phones in, the floors were very dirty in the room. The elevator was slower than molasses. hundred dollars a night i just feel like it should be updated more.And there should be more than one elevator. And for those who said they have bugs roaches , I didn't see no bugs , bugs was not a problem.

The whole hotel is seriously dilapidated and not worth the money, This property shouldnt even be listed as an option to stay at. Room was dirty and made for a miserable night. I booked the room for 4 nights but only stayed for 1 because of the filth.

The interior of the elevators are so disgustingly dirty , they haven’t been cleaned in years.. The door to our unit ,, a one bedroom suite,,bearly closes . The flooring in the unit looks recently replaced , but our shoes stuck to the floor as we walked on it .. the coffee station is totally gross,, an inoperateable fridge sat below it,, the filthy replacement sat by its self next to a worn out thrift store couch .. The baseboard ,doors ,walls and trims have not been painted since the flooring. was installed.. All covered in filth,, Windows the same .

The best thing you could do is update your hotel, it was old and cold. No personal touches anyway, no pictures in the lobby no plants, no music… The rooms are in rough shape, need painting, new ceiling (popcorn ceiling has been out for years) Fix holes and carpets.

NIGHTMARE! Worst hotel experience of my life, and I’ve had some bad ones! This is a very run down, neglected, and old hotel that got new floors, some paint, and some pictures to try to give it a face lift however it still needs a lot more work and attention to detail to bring it up to a decent hotel. Our room did not have a bedside table, telephone, alarm clock, or any trash cans. A disgusting office chair full of dirt and stains, lights that didn’t work, stains on the bed’s headboard, stains in the bathroom, stains on pillow cases and sheets, lampshades that looked like they had not been cleaned in decades
