Lovely house in a lovely location, only scored down on local amenities as you are 3.5 miles up a dead end rd, but there is a lovely hotel at the start of the road that serves good beer and fine food. Having said that, you wouldn’t be booking a property like this if you wanted the cinema and crazy golf. What it does offer is peace and quite and superb scenery. We did a big shop in Dingwall on the way up and then picked up bits and pieces locally in Lairg. If fly fishing is your thing then the river Cassley is outside the front door. If you like walking or cycling these are also from the front door. Centrally placed for the west, east and north coasts, all of which we visited, also only a little over an hour down to Inverness.
The house is very spacious with en-suite plus two other bathrooms, with a log burner in the lounge, I would recommend roller skates to get from one end of the kitchen/dinner to the other.
We had a great day out canoeing on the Kyle of Sutherland with locally based ‘Go Wild Highlands’. Also had a lovely walk on the local Rosehall trails.
Birds of pray and dear could be heard every night although it took until our final day to really see anything up close, when...opening the curtains revealed 3 deer happily munching away oblivious of us, they stayed around for almost an hour.
Overall, a great property in a great location with an overall score of 10/10
Would definitely return, just not next year as our preferred dates are already taken.
