If you are looking to enjoy a home with amenities, this would not be the place for you. My family traveled with senior parents, and prefer a stocked kitchen because they are picky eaters and enjoy cooking their own meals. My family rated this rental based on the following:
- A policy that stood out to us was the trash. Management made it very clear guests are responsible for taking out trash. However, NO extra trash bags, or toilet paper were provided upon arrival. It is common for management to supply at least one additional trash bag and a few toilet paper rolls. In this case, none were provided. You will need to purchase or pack extra. This was inconvenient for us because we traveled from the West Coast to the East Coast and did not even know we needed extra until we checked in. We ended up purchasing more than was needed and this was a hassle because we wanted to maximize our stay and comfort.
- We stayed at a VRBO rental in Maui, HI recently and the rental unit had a fully stocked kitchen cabinet with all the main seasoning and ingredients (salt, pepper, oil, steak seasoning, etc.). It was convenient and created a great experience. Sadly, only salt was provided at this rental property. You will need to bring your own ingredients, if you plan to cook breakfast or meals.
- We only received one small packet of laundry detergent for our several night stay. Again, this was a hassle to have to purchase more detergent than we needed. In addition, property management required us to load all the towels in the washer prior to locking up for departure, which is understandable, but another pack or two of detergent would be appreciative.
- Same thing with dishwasher detergent--received one small packet.
- Lastly, the water park is not as pictured and is located in a neighboring community. It was smaller than expected.
Overall, this would be a better rental for guests looking for the absolute minimum for their stay and enjoyment. Meaning, you do not intend to use any of the amenities and only need a place to sleep, shower, and get dressed. Lastly, property management provided good service. They were responsive and answered all our questions. The rental rate at the time we booked was a great deal compared to other rentals, however the property definitely lacked amenities. It is true, you get what you pay for. Had my family known about the lack of amenities prior to booking, we would have chosen another place to rent.
