「We didn’t mind our stay, but there are things that should be given some attention. The shower is very tight and toilet is in a very tight space. So Do away with the closet and expand The rooms are clean and staff was helpful when we needed anything. The beach view once you make it over the dune was awesome! lol Very clean and quiet!」

「My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful.」

「They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.」

「Front desk staff, Janet and Dianne were very nice and helpful, although at the time of check in our room was not ready, Janet made every effort to accommodate us!! Clean and quiet room, easy parking. we definitely recommend this location. 」

「Loved the breakfast, room was clean although a little beat up. Beach view was from the side window and not front view from a balcony. This is how the hotel was built. Over all, we would stay again. 」
