Silver Stand get away!
This was a lovely home and plenty of room for our family of 8. Lots of stairs so if you have toddlers would want to bring baby gate . Property was beautiful, flowers in full bloom! Would stay again! Beds were comfortable !! Plenty of kitchen supply’s condiments ect. Cooking utensils! The little putting green in front yard was a hit with our family!

Awesome location and perfect house
We booked the property for a marathon we were running nearby. It had the right amount of really comfortable beds, kitchen was well stocked so we could have family dinners and the easy 2 min walk to the beach was fantastic.

All the beach house amenities you need.
We had a wonderful time. The layout of this house was excellent for families with kids. Each bedroom has great separation from the other - so if you have babies, older kids, adults, you can easily separate folks based on the sleep needs, noise, etc. The street noise was quite as well. One thing to be mindful of is this house does a fair amount of stairs - one set up from the street level to the main living area and two bedrooms, and another set to the 2nd floor bedroom. All the beds were comfy - and there were plenty of pillows and blankets to spare. If you're looking to visit the beach, there's so much beach equipment in the garage, you should be able to find everything you need. The house was clean, organized, and we will certainly consider another stay.

Perfect beach retreat with lots of add-ins
We really enjoyed our stay. The place included lots of extras we had read about, but it's a different experience to actually see it for yourself. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the plates, utensils, pots and pans you could ever need. We also had access to essential condiments and a keurig style coffee machine. We also loved the fact we could use their bikes to ride around the neighborhood. In addition to the bikes, they also had surfboards, wetsuits, kayaks and other water ties we were free to use (a true added bonus). Overall, we were quite happy with our stay and that added extra - loved the ocean view from the top deck. The single bed on the top floor was a little noisey (squeeky), but other than that, the place was a true gem and the hosts were super responsive when we did have questions.

Perfect spot!
The owner was very attentive. The home worked out great for us and all we wanted to do! Loved having all of the bikes and boards available. The kids loved using them at the beach. We also enjoyed the very short walk to the beach and that it is a quiet beach. Just a little secret for other travelers, once you are out on the beach walk to your left towards the naval base where there are rocks and at the edge is an old sunken boat. It is all rusted now but a local told us about it and we enjoyed searching for it! Would definitely come back here.

Fun Beach House
We had such a fun time at the beach house. We rode bikes over to Hollywood beach and enjoyed just hanging out. The area is very nice and the weather was perfect. We will definitely look into this beach house for trips in the future.

This Place Has It All
We have vacationed at Silver Strand Beach 4 times and stayed at 4 different VRBO’s. This house was the best! It is very spacious and clean with garage FULL of beach equipment. We will be back to this house for sure 😁

Oxnard stay
We had a nice time at the condo. The furniture is a little worn. Kitchen table is rickety for playing games and the couch is uncomfortable. Great location to the beach. Access is right down the street. The garage is full of beach activities!! Kitchen is stocked with supplies! The condo is right next to a Airforce base that is abandoned. Not really an issue just didn’t expect. Neighbors seemed friendly enough. We were there when some dolphins were washed up on the beach. So sad! Watched the seals swimming in the area which was fun!!

Hi Debra: Thank you so much for taking the time to give feedback on our HOUSE (not a condo). A condo has units with neighbors above and below you. This is a single family dwelling on a quiet neighborhood block with nice neighbors, as you described. Our home is near the NAVAL Base Ventura County (NOT abandoned, NOT Airforce), in fact it is the largest employer in Ventura County. Because it is so quiet and they are such good neighbors, I can understand why you thought it was abandoned. To the south of our quiet little neighbor hood beach is, the Port of Hueneme, is the only deep water harbor between Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area. Located in Ventura County on the Santa Barbara Channel. As far as my "rickety" kitchen table, it is a highly sought after vintage rattan/bamboo piece from the late 1950's tiki bar era, it is in remarkable condition for its age and no one else has ever complained about it. It may not be of your cup of tea, I understand. The couch I find super comfy and once again have never had a complaint about it. I just love the washable interchangeable covers for it. Super convenient for the vacation rental. Hope to see you again soon!

Great Beach House!
I just returned home after a girls getaway at this beach house. It could not have been more fun! There is ample space for everyone and lots of toys in the garage for biking, going to the beach, etc. The location was great and the owner was very nice and easy to contact. All of the ladies said that they would love to return next year. Thumbs up!

Beautiful family Beach home
Oxnard was a perfect spot for us. We were close enough to LA and to Santa Barbara that we went back and forth throughout the week but also far enough to enjoy the small town feel. The house had plenty of room for the 9 of us. It was a very easy short walk to the beach. The local food was great! We have a wonderful time!!

This house is just a short stroll to the beach and within reasonable walking distance to a few eateries. The supply of beach toys and equipment they’ve made available for use includes everything you need and more. The host was very friendly and responsive — a pleasure to deal with!

Summer 2022 Vacation
Overall stay was great and property was clean. Home equipped with all bikes , kitchen supplies, towels etc. Proximity to beach was within walking distance. The only downside- as a family of six with a toddler the pressures of remaining quiet was stressful. I would say it's almost impossible to meet the quiet expectations in the house and neighborhood with a large family. We initially booked the guest house for the week and changed to the weekend because some of our party left. Per the listing, we were under the impression that the " guest house" would be vacant unless rented by us. Two days prior to check in, we were informed that the owners adult son would be staying the week. While it is named a guest house, it is attached and can be easily accessed through the main house. While there was no incidents, it was very uncomfortable given the several doors that the adult son could've accessed into my children's bedroom area. In the book provided to guests in the home states there is a permanent renter, which is not listed on the site and the information was known to the owner ahead if time. We had no time to change our mind in staying in property and when advised of the circumstance, our booking was already non refundable. I would say the lack of tranparancy outweighed all the positive aspects of the property . However, we made the best of our stay and explored some landmarks nearby.

Dear Desiree: I would like to address some issues you mention in this "review". Regarding "quiet expectations", I don't know why you felt you needed to be quiet any more than you would in your own home. That pressure you are apparently having was not put there by me. And if you check my other reviews, this has not seemed to have been a problem for anybody else in the past. Guest house unit...Is NOT rented to anyone other than those that rent the main house. End of story. There is NOT a full-time tenant living there. As far as my adult son staying there a few nights while visiting us from out of state and working in the area for the week, when we approached you about this, you said "it would not be a problem”, as to save on gas driving to and from my home to his jobsite. This was a very rare event, and had you had a problem with it that you verbalized to me, I would have had him drive back to my home. You said nothing. I am so sorry you felt uncomfortable with that, but once again had you let me know, you were unhappy, we would have told him to come home. The guest unit has its own entrance, and parking on a different street. There was never any interaction with any of your party and my son. To reiterate, the guest house unit, has NEVER been a problem for anybody else, see my reviews. I think this was a result of poor communication. Hope you will come stay with us again. Have a wonderful rest of 2022!

Great place near the beach
We enjoyed our stay in Oxnard. Didn't know much about the area before booking. We ended up driving to Ventura almost everyday, but this area is nice and quiet. Safe to let kids/teens play outside. We enjoyed having access to wetsuits and surfboards. We also enjoyed the bikes. The house had plenty of space. The only things that could be improved are the mattress pad on the bottom trundle- need a new one this has stains. And some extra silverware. We ran out of spoons everyday.

Our Favorite Get Away Place
We love this beach house for our family! It is fully stocked with everything you need and more including bikes, boogie boards, surfboards, kayaks, wetsuits and beach gear including chairs and beach umbrellas. It is just a walk down the street to the beach and it's a lovely community. It is our home away from home :-)

Fantastic! Great location close to a beautiful beach, lovely quiet neighborhood, large house with multiple decks perfect for a larger group, lots of beach activity equipment, place is as advertised. Awesome Experience.
Great Communications with owners. More then my family and I expected. And people were nice. at this location beach is close and clean. everything you need is in the home. Just bring food and drinks. (lol) Home was clean, garage full of things for you to do. from swimming, Biking, and beach & coolers. We enjoyed our stay! and with out a doubt would stay at The Oxnard Beach House on our next trip to California.

Nice home in great beach neighborhood
The family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Silver Strand/Oxnard Beach House. As advertised, the proximity to the beach was great and the home was Wonderfully equipped. The kitchen, extra unit downstairs and all the beach and outdoor toys were exceptional for the kids and big kids! The owners were incredibly responsive and all the little labels were very helpful. Oxnard is a great jumping off spot for visiting all the Los Angeles area offer tourists. Would stay again without hesitation. Thank you

Great Location
The house was in a great location. The beach is a short walk. There are stores near by if you need anything. The property has a lot of cool places to hang around outside. We had a great time and would rent this property again.
