Beautiful home!

We just returned from a five night stay at Driftwood Dunes. It was absolutely beautiful. The beds were comfortable and it was very spacious. The whole neighborhood was just amazing. You can’t go wrong. They are strict with neighborhood rules but it keeps the community looking amazing.

Nice Neighborhood Rude Staff

The neighborhood is great for biking. The staff is ridiculously rude and looking for conflict. Seems as if they enjoy it. Maybe this would be a good fit for Adults but not for children.

Driftwood Dunes

The team was promt and extremely helpful at every turn! Community amenities were amazing. 30a is a 1 line road and very busy. Must like slow living and bike riding as this is a busy out door area. Neighborhood was friendly and extremely well kept. Get your spot on the private beach early or just rent the chairs and umbrella to really enjoy the beach! 😉🏖💛

Lots to say

So the most disappointing part of our stay was the beach. Yes you have access to a free tram with a quick ride to the beach but holy cow…good luck finding a spot to sit on at the beach. “Private beach” forget about it. We never made it past the steps. You can’t even walk on the shallow beach you are allowed on. It’s blocked by two private beaches on each side that you are not allowed to access to. There are 10 umbrellas deep from step till you get to the water. Not enough beach space for the crowd. There is security to keep you locked in on both sides of the private beach. You are also not allowed to ride a bike to the beach. They block you in advance and make a park across the street. We also got in trouble for throwing a small soft Nerf football in the pool. Apparently 5 inch footballs are not allowed in the pool. I have never in my life left a bad review and I hate doing this now but I feel like people should know the truth. This was not ideal. I could have overcome the not so clean house when we arrived but not having access to a suitable beach or being able to throw a small soft football with small children in the pool puts me over the edge. We have a condo in Destin with a private beach. I thought we were going to have a vacation with less congestion. I was wrong. We will not be staying at Secrest again. The area around Seacrest is fabulous with wonderful restaurants and shopping. The beach situation is unbearable. People should be warned. Also, clean the house people! Give me a break. This house hadn’t been dusted in months. I would have happily paid more for a more thorough cleaning job.
