“I highly recommend staying at Phong Nga Mountain House. The accommodation is exactly as shown in the photos and very clean. The bed is very comfortable. The hostess and her family showed the epitome of hospitality and thoughtfulness. I arrived too early, so the room wasn't ready. When I came back to check in, the hostess already turned on the AC and hot water for the shower for me. I had to check out at 5am and the hostess was already up and prepare a take away breakfast for me. I would stay……

“This property wasn’t in great condition. The pool needed some love, it had stains and had green algae growing on the metal fixtures. The paint was peeling off of the pool chairs and it didn’t look comfortable. The bedding wasn’t great, the bed was uncomfortably firm and the AC wasn’t working well. We left and found accommodation somewhere else. ”

“Staff were excellent before and during our stay. They helped us with arranging our pick up from Dong Hoi, early check in, trip to the caves (excellent) and onward travel arrangements. Room had everything you needed for a pleasant stay and it was quiet with a comfortable bed. Fabulous omelette for breakfast too! ”

“The room was more than what we expected. It was spacious, neat and tidy. The toilet is also quite big, though it smells a little so we always have the toilet cover down. The staff would never miss a chance to sell you national park tour or pick up services(seems to be a norm in that area), but was very nice and are able to communicate in English. They were also very helpful by calling the tourism centre, which we booked our tour to national park since our tour guide was late. Another thing……

Lovely breakfast and laundry done same day ready for departure. I stayed in a single room with 3 beds with my teenage kids for 3 nights and this location and remoteness was a highlight of our Vietnam trip. ”
