"Heater didn’t work, shower tub antislip mat peeling off, someone’s toilet ran all night, woke up to very bad words of someone yelling outside the door. "

"Heartland was rated a 9 out of ten, we gave it a 5. The room was backed up to the elevator , which we heard all night. Bathroom shower was small. Room had a smell to it. The toilet would make a noise every hour. Hotel needs some updates."

"My week-long stay in Coralville was great. The room was quiet and clean. The location was convenient for me, visiting a family member at nearby Summit. The best part of the stay was the service provided by the staff, who were friendly and helpful. The night clerk helped me with a very late check-in and greeted me on my return each night. “Iowa Nice” for sure. Many thanks, and I will return on my next visit to Coralville."

"The breakfast was good but go early because not all items are refilled. The floor of the tub/shower in our room need to be resurfaced as parts of the surface appeared to be peeling. The bottles of soap and shampoo in the shower were empty. The TV in our room kept buffering and the sound would randomly fade in and out. The area off the elevator needed to be vacuumed and the trash by the ice maker was overflowing. Neither were cleaned during our two days at the property. We were told that Housekeeping is on a 3-day rotation. Overall the property was just "tired"."

"I travel to Iowa City monthly, and two of my usual hotels have recently closed, so I finally decided to try the Garden Inn. It has always been a little more expensive, but this was a celebration weekend, so we went for it. Overall, we had a good time. The parking garage was being renovated, and I still had to pay $15 to park in a farther garage across the street. Not a huge deal, but a helpful heads-up for other travelers. The elevators were very slow, but the view from the 9th floor was beautiful. The staff was extremely nice, the housekeepers were so friendly, and the little lobby store had lots of treats for my boys. I also loved that they had a hot tub. A little overpriced in my opinion, but still a nice hotel for a treat every now and then."
