“This is an amazing house on an amazing property. The house is well appointed and spacious. The pool is enormous, and overlooks the river. We enjoyed watching the tour boats go up and down the river, and passing the goats and chickens on the road. The host has made it very comfortable. The only downside is it is an extremely twisty and steep road down to the house. But totally worth it for the serenity upon arrival.”

“Le logement est spacieux et l’extérieur est très agréable avec le jardin, les terrasses et la piscine. La literie est confortable et il y a tout le nécessaire dans les salles d’eau (produits et linge). La cuisine est bien équipée mais la hotte est un peu basse. Nous y avons passé deux belles semaines ! Sur les conseils de la propriétaire, nous avons pu découvrir de belles adresses (restaurants, caves, monuments…).”

“Accommodation is excellent, lovely to be met by the host who did an essential shop for us as we were arriving late. Airy rooms with air conditioning. The pool is great for a dip after a day sightseeing in Porto. The steps into the pool were very slippery and wobbly so care is needed entering and exiting the pool. It would benefit from a couple more sun loungers as there were only two. We did struggle to sleep as the neighbouring dogs barked through the night. Ubers are a great way of getting……

“We hebben een hele fijne week gehad in een comfortabel en sfeervol huis. Royaal verblijf op groot perceel grond, prachtige bosrijke en zeer rustige omgeving. Douro ligt ongeveer 500 meter lager, vanuit huis niet zichtbaar. Van zwembad geen gebruik gemaakt, omdat het een behoorlijk stuk afdalen en klimmen was. Dourovallei is prachtig. Veel moois in de omgeving te zien. Auto is een must.”

“The house was beautiful,magical,homey and the views from the pool and pergola were absolutely breathtaking. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you could possibly need. Especially for Paula our very talented and kind chef who came to cook for us on 2 occasions If I could give a 6 star I would as Victor the owner just couldn’t do enough for us. He was there when we needed him for restaurant recommendations, directions for the hiking path, cab bookings and kind enough to fix the coffee……

“Licinia and her husband were wonderful hosts, easy to communicate with and resolving any issues promptly. The pool.ans outdoor area was great though the weather was bad during our stay so we didn't get to use it.. easy drive to Porto too! The only thing we found was the listing says spa pool and fitness centre which must be a mistake as there is not either of those available a this house.”
