This was the second year in a row that we stayed in this home. Our experience the first year brought us back. The hostess is extremely kind and responds quickly to any questions. The seven bedrooms gave everyone their own space. The living space was great for hanging out. Everyone enjoyed spending time on the back porches with the views as well. We love that it is SO close to the heart of Pigeon Forge. We could be at the grocery store, the Old Mill, miniature golf, shopping, restaurants, Mountain Top Coaster, and tons of other activities, literally in a few minutes. They also provide daily free tickets to multiple attractions and shows. Already looking forward to next year's trip.
This house was the best location we have ever stayed in. You are a mile from Dollywood and a 1/2 mile from the main road. The bedrooms were big, comfy beds, and there were lots of activities to keep the kids busy. Excellent choice and will stay there again.
Loved the flow of the layout for older Dad and kids below. Would love to pick this location for our annually stay in the mountains. Interested, let me know.
Home has lots of room for a family/friend gathering. Outside porches offer beautiful views. Very nice that every bedroom has dedicated bathrooms. Only warning is that although the home is wheelchair accessible (the main floor), the bathroom attached to the main floor bedroom is not really handicap assessable.
Highly recommend for a big group. Very centrally located.
The home was great, close to attractions and dining. But foe the home to be pet friendly, there is no greenspace. We had to walk the entire street to find an appropriate potty location, just not what was expected. Other than that, check in and out were super easy. But to be advertised for 18 people and only have towels for 14 was a kittlw off putting, constantly having to do laundry. So for those indiscretions, i give 4 stars
We were a group of 13 women that traveled from GA to go to a conference in Pigeon Forge. The house was exactly as described. What I did not realize when I rented the house was that there were bunkbeds instead of side by side. Most of the women were from mid-sixties to mid-eighties. The stairs were not a good idea for them, but most of them made it work. We had everything we needed and more available. We did have one issue, with a little uninvited guest, but the response was quick and we got it serviced right away. Would definitely stay again with a big family group next time.
I am someone who comes in and cleans any place that we are staying in, and i will be honest that there wasn't much that i found. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the house. We had 3 families, with a total of 6 children and 6 adults, and one family brought a small elderly dog. Each family took a floor and the kids had plenty of options to sleep. The kids loved the basement area and really enjoyed the games and theater room, they pretty much stayed down there any time we were at the house. There were plenty of places to sit and eat, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Overall we didn't have any need to contact the management team, but all information was very clearly provided to us through email and in the house. This was a great experience.
I recently stayed at this lovely property with family and friends for a weekend getaway, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. The location was fantastic—close to all the attractions and nestled in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. The house itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of room for our group.
The kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials, making it easy to prepare meals. We also loved the outdoor space; the patio was perfect for relaxing in the evenings, and the views were stunning.
However, there were a couple of minor issues, like the kitchen sink tap wouldn’t turn off easily. Couple of extra blankets would have been helpful.
Despite these very minor inconveniences, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning in the future. This property is a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay!
My overall rating is more of 4.5 but there was no option to rate with the stars that way.
The house is exactly as photographed! The beds are comfy, they have everything you could need during your stay. I cooked multiple meal in the kitchen and there was room for everyone to eat! The only issue I had was the cleanliness of the home. It was very dirty. I usually expect these houses to be extremely clean because of the cleaning fee associated but that was not the case with this house. I guess I was just very let down and a little embarrassed that this house was not cleaned professionally prior to our stay. I truly hope they cleaned professionally after we left because 12 out of the 14 of us ended the trip with a stomach bug!
The home was perfect for us. Plenty of room for our large family to have our own space. The living/dining/kitchen combined open area was great for hanging out. The decks on the back were also nice for hanging out. We loved HOW CLOSE it was to everything. It was fast and easy to run out to the grocery store, shopping and to the many attractions along the Pigeon Forge strip. We could easily run back to the house for something to eat, etc.
The hostess responded almost immediately to any questions we had and was very kind and friendly. VERY easy to work with. She also offers xPlorie which gives a free ticket every day of your stay to multiple attractions and shows. (for example Monday we got a free ticket to Mountaintop Coaster and Beyond the Lens. Tuesday we got another free ticket to Mountaintop Coaster)
I am not a fan of some of the steep driveways we have encountered in past homes. This one did not bother me at all. There was a little steep spot as we entered the neighborhood, but the road was wide and it was easy to see.
This home is at the top of our list for our next trip to Pigeon Forge.
Very nice cabin with lots of space. The kids enjoyed the game room and theater room while the adults enjoyed the hot tub. We chose this unit because of the accessibility of getting into it with my husbands wheelchair and the king bedroom and living room/kitchen being on the same level. The only issue with that was the bathroom had a tub and no grab bars so that presented quite a bit of difficulty. There were bedrooms on other levels with a walk in shower but he couldn’t navigate stairs to get there.
The kitchen has several basics for those wishing to cook. The neighborhood is nice and is close to everything. The management company is friendly and easy to work with. I called with a couple of suggestions for the next visitors (more towels needs and a malfunctioning ice maker) and they were ready to send someone immediately but I told them there wasn’t a rush for us.
Our families has a great time and spent lots of money in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg!
Southern Comfort Lodge is a wonderful, cozy lodge and is perfect for families who want to go to town daily. The Christmas tree was lit when we arrived and entrance was immediately cozy. Everyone had bathrooms and only master on main shared restroom with guests who were in kitchen and living room. There may have been two restrooms for three bedrooms on lower level but all the other rooms had individual restrooms. All but one lower level bedroom and one upstairs bedroom had bedroom doors open to decks. Had all amenities like seating areas upstairs, main level, lower level, a play area, and a washing closet. Kitchen seating area, fridge, and cooking was adequate for 18 guests to sit and have all the food we each brought. It was clean, up-to-date, well managed, and had towels, toilet paper, tiny containers of shampoo in bathrooms, liquid dish soaps, and dishwasher soap to get everyone started. Loading everything we brought was easy as you walk in almost at ground level and don't have to carry every suitcase up stairs to enter the cabin. The porch has a graded entrance that a wheel chair could easily enter the cabin. Since they are kind enough to allow well-behaved pets DO bring blankets so your dogs don't shed on their suede-like couches. We were careful to place six of our blankets on their couches so we didn't leave remnants of our fur family. How it compared to other cabins: we have been to other cabins in the area that of toilet paper roll
This cabin is great and exactly as listed. It has a beautiful view and was super quiet even as close to the action as it is. It is on a street with other cabins, so you are not secluded, but that was expected as close to the parkway as we were. The cabin is well stocked and you have everything you need for a great vacation. Overall, this cabin was a wonderful experience. It even had a Christmas tree up which was very nice since we were celebrating a family Christmas. The only knock on the cabin would be the internet speed not being fast enough to get any work done or load websites for purchasing attaction tickets. With the cabin this close to the busy area, we expected to be able to get some work done. That is not the case. We tried resetting the modem several times but it did not improve speeds. I didn't think this was a big enough deal to lose a start, so we kep it 5 star because everything else was great. It is something to note if you plan on being able to do some work remotely. Last thing of note is the Xplorie ticket benefit of this cabin. We had never heard of Xplorie, so it kind of sounded scammish, but it was not. It did save us the cost of one ticket for the things we did which was checked against booking those same tickets direct with the attraction. What an awesome addition to the cabin! You could definitely make some of your cost back by using this during an extended stay. Thanks for letting us stay!
It could be more cleaner. The bathroom mats and shower curtains need to be changed. The tv in the living room volume was not always working. Need more tops for the pots in the kitchen.
