「This hotel stands all by itself in Tomales so it's hard to miss. It's a well-maintained property that is not staffed. You interact with the property manager through phone. Initially, I struggled to figure out how to access my room. There's a few rooms that have exterior entries; the rest are access through entering the lobby. Room was very cozy; I could have stayed there for a week. Like many who have visited, the cafe/bakery across the street is totally worth a visit or more.」

「I wish I did a little more research before booking. This lodge used to be a hostel and still seems more like a hostel than lodge. It would be perfect if I wasn’t traveling with a toddler who wants to get into everything. Location is about a five minute drive from the beach. We saw a ton of deer. It’s a little ways to the shipwreck and lighthouse. Great for trail access. Overall, if you’re traveling with small children or folks who overheat easily, maybe not the best place.
