Such a good weekend away

Exception Stay

Always a pleasure to stay at Ashby’s. Stayed here on numerous occasions including for a birthday!! Steve and Mubi were great at accommodating everything I needed including birthday decorations. The spa was lovely, hot tub extremely spacious set to the perfect temperature. Communal area had a wide array of games to play, great for some competitive fun! A lovely place for a little getaway! Overall an amazing experience as per usual! Cannot wait to book to stay again :)

Beautiful and wonderfully quirky

One of my favourite hotels to stay in. Very homely, the beds are incredibly comfy and the whole hotel is beautifully decorated and I love how quirky it is. Love the games/bar area and self service kitchen. The owners always friendly and accommodating. Look forward to staying again.

Found a gem with this one !! Gorgeous boutique hotel where the staff have all run off and abandoned the place so you can stay at a sensible price. This is now my no1 place to stay when travelling to the IOW (and that’s without using the sauna and hot tubs.) Steve and Mubi are great hosts and are doing a great job in covering for the missing staff ??

The hosts were lovely people but we just felt a bit disappointed as the reason we booked here was due to the games room and facilities for our 9 year old to enjoy after checking in which we couldn’t use due to a large booking so ended up having to sit in the pub down the road for hours . Would have been useful to of been told this before hand . We stayed in room 14 although large and nothing wrong with room it had a horrible damp / stale smell and wasnt pleasant, we checked out early the next morning due to this . I thought there would be a balloon in the room or something for my husband’s birthday ( pre arranged and I would of paid for it ) which was explained they wasn’t sure which room it was for and they would pop something in later but it didn’t happen . All things combined was just disappointed with the amount I paid unfortunately .

Our host, Mubi, was fantastic and she couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. She showed us to our room and gave us a tour of the spa. Fantastic place to stay and beautiful rooms.

We had an amazing two-night stay at Ashbys and can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the owners, Steve and Mubi, made us feel incredibly welcome they were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. There’s so much to do at the hotel, we were genuinely impressed. The free pool table was a great touch and added to the relaxed, fun vibe of the place. But the real highlight for us was the spa and hot tub totally worth the money and a perfect way to unwind in the evenings. We used the spa both nights and loved every minute of it. Ashbys is a gem in Portsmouth comfortable, entertaining, and run by two wonderful hosts. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful room, very warm welcome and a short walk to the Kite Festival on the Common. Vegan restaurant around the corner, what more could we ask for. Would definitely recommend Ashby’s and hope to visit again.

Amazing find in Southsea

The hosts were really helpful and friendly. The communal area was incredible with state-of-the-art facilities including free to play sports including pool, table tennis, table football, and air hockey. Lovely spacious rooms with modern fittings and modern bathroom.

Very nice stay at Ashbys

Nice location near many restaurants but pretty quiet. Easy walk to beaches. Fairly big room with comfortable bed and sofa bed. Nice common area with billiards, air hockey, foosball, and video game console. The spa area seemed nice but was a tad too pricey for family use.
