The staff was very friendly and helpful. She directed us to an awesome place to eat dinner in downtown Portsmouth. An old town with character. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was limited but good.

The pillows were infested with bed bugs, and I didn’t even lift the sheets to see if the bed was worse. The toilet was clogged and coated in feces, and the windowsills were full of dead bugs. Housekeeping clearly hadn’t been in the room for a while. I left the hotel and slept in my truck. I’m still waiting for my refund, please do not stay here.

The entire property inside was very dirty in hallways, stairs and common areas. The first room was a very dirty and changed rooms and the second room was overwhelming second hand cigarette smoke. The breakfast was very sparce so decided to skip breakfast there. Very disappointed with the overall stay.

Do not stay here! Floor sand furnishings in the room had some kind of moisture on them as if it had been sprayed but not wiped clean. The shower ceiling had fallen in at some point and repairing was shoddy at best. Mold on the bath walls was surpassed by loose tiles. The property was formerly a Holiday Inn which obviously went to pot. Three different kinds of bugs were in the room and on the hallway walls. Breakfast area was a mess with little to offer. We went out a local restaurant. Stepping into the shower brought black residue onto the floor from your feet picked up by walking on the floor.

Back security door was unlocked the whole time. Had a nonsmoking room but the cigarette smoke was overwhelming in the hallways and common areas. Coffee maker wouldn’t let the hot water go through and it started to smoke so quickly unplugged it. Front desk person couldn’t split the room charge onto two credit cards because “the thingy wasn’t working.”

I had apparently been banned from the property during the winter months for no apparent reason other than maintenance had an issue with my husband but had nothing to do me so I thought when I made the reservation for the room I figured there wasn't an issue. But when I went to the motel to check in they proceeded to tell me I had been banned and could not check in but I will

Black mold in the bathroom around showerhead. Hotel has musty smell. Choice Hotels should be embarrassed. Third year staying here with a party of 20 people. We will not be staying again until the much needed renovations are done.

The rooms are rundown. The linens were damp!!! My reservation was for a double king beds but they don’t even exist there (Expedias fault there) but I got a king bed with thin mattresses covered by a thin cotton topper, and a sleeper sofa with stained mattress and no topper.

When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk, and the number that was provided only led to an automated call for the property. We were somewhat disappointed by the initial condition of our room. Upon entering, the room had a musty odor that smelled like cigarette smoke. However, the bathroom was even worse. Inside the bathtub and around the toilet were numerous human hairs and animal droppings. That said, when we did interact with staff, they were usually very polite and helpful, but it would have been preferable if we had not the problems from the outset.
