Top Prahova Valley Hotel Reviews

Casa Wagner Brasov
8/10 Good
"The room itself was fantastic - I’m seeing AC as an option here and as far as I’m aware we didn’t have AC…? But maybe we totally missed it - I seem to remember when we booked some rooms had units and others didn’t. We just opened our window at night.
Anyway, this property was amazing. Only thing I would say is that they seem to have made some great upgrades in the room while maintaining the overall charm, but…wouldn’t be surprised if the mattress was still original. Seriously, three days later still rehabbing the damage that was wrought all up and down my back. Replace the mattresses and this’ll be a perfect property."

"We actually booked a different hotel but when we arrived for check in a woman came and told us to go across the street. It may have been a language barrier, but she refused to explain anything. Luckily, the young man at the other hotel attempted to explain, although I’m still not clear why he said it was because our original hotel was closed for”today”. However when I checked on Expedia, the original hotel was still accepting reservations for the date of our reservation!! I do think we got a better room and likely a better breakfast, but it was still a tad disconcerting. Otherwise, the room was clean but carpets could use an update. They felt grungy. Breakfast buffet was exceptional, offering more than typical breakfast buffets and it had a great coffee machine. Kudos to the young man at reception who was quite lovely to deal with and very patient with this obviously annoyed client. I would probably stay here again, but would prefer a place without carpet. Hotel Sinaia

"We stayed at Hotel Sinaia for 2 nights. The place is clean and staff is friendly. The breakfast must be the best I've ever seen and had at a hotel - plenty of choices, vegan included, and abundance (see pictures I'm including here). The shower faucet worked well but looked like it was installed by kids - and the glass protection of the bathtub was not folding properly so water was leaking on the floor while showering (see photo). The wifi did not work in the room, we had to go outside in the hallway to use the phone - when I spoke to the reception desk about it, they proposed to change the room for us instead of checking wifi connection (problematic). The TV had film channels options on the screen (Netflix, Prime, Disney etc) which didn't work - again, when I mentioned it to the reception desk, a bewildered staff said those are options that come with the TV set but the subscriptions are not paid by the hotel, so the channels are unavailable. The pool is small and constantly crowded - it is free from 9 am to 6 pm and then one must pay for access between 6 - 8 pm, the reason I was given being that "it's a popular time and the pool has limited capacity" (never heard of this type of approach before). One of the two existent dry saunas didn't work, so the other sauna is very busy. No lockers in the spa area, guests need to change into swimsuits in their room and come down dressed in their bathrobes and slippers, by elevator and pass through hotel lobby (awkward & uncomfortable)"
