Villa Melodia by Piazza San Luca – A Serene Gem in Historic Praiano

Nestled in the heart of Praiano’s charming upper district, Villa Melodia offers an authentic Amalfi Coast experience just 65 steps from Via Antico Seggio. Positioned near the picturesque Piazza San Luca and the quaint Antico Seggio, the villa enjoys a privileged location—right next to a well-stocked grocery store and only a couple of minutes from local bus stop No. 15, offering frequent connections throughout the town and to Positano until late at night via the Flavio Gioia local loop.

Convenient Transportation & Parking:

The SitaSud main bus stop (Via Capriglione) is a short 10-minute walk away, providing reliable service to Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, and beyond.

Amalfi coast paradise

Beautiful property. This is what you imagine when you picture a place on the Amalfi Coast. Modern appliances but with the original charm and character. Breathtaking view of the ocean from the terrace. AC is great, just note, only in two bedrooms. Small market downstairs, great restaurants walk-able(try Kasai, so good!). For trips to other Amalfi towns, there is a bus that runs hourly for 2euros. It is 20 min from Positano but truly, after a day there, it was great to walk into our beautiful place and have drinks on the balcony. The owners personally met us and made check in flawless. You are a bit removed from the bustle of Positano, but that was our goal. It was beautiful, peaceful and we will return.

Beautiful Home in Praiano

This property is a 10/10 & you won’t find a better host than Domenico! He was very easy to communicate with and helped us with arranging a car service to & from the train station, and answering questions about the local area both ahead of time and during our stay. He went the extra mile to make sure we could get to a special dinner reservation when all of the local taxis were busy. The home is exactly as pictured & offers beautiful views, has several delicious restaurants within easy walking distance, a minimart at the bottom of the stairs & local bus stop 15 is just a short walk up the street. Be aware…there are 65 steps up to the property, so pack lightly!

Quiet Paradise on the Amalfi Coast

My family stayed here for 4 nights and it was wonderful! It was a an easy bus or taxi ride to Positano or Amalfi but it was away from all the crowds of people so we could have quiet evenings. Domenico, the property manager, was great at communication and sent lots of information in advance. Some of which was overwhelming before arriving but once there it was great to have the information on hand to figure out the bus or garbage system. There is a market right down the steps from the property so we got food for meals and there were many great restaurants in walking distance if we didn't want to cook. Similar to all properties along Amalfi, be prepared for lots of stairs and pack accordingly since this property is up a small set of stairs. The front patio is gorgeous and we spent most nights out there with a glass of wine.

Family vacation

Our stay in this house was wonderful. The views are amazing and we spent most of our evenings at the table on the patio with a glass of wine, chatting and laughing. There are many great restaurants in Praiano but we did cook one night. The kitchen needs just a few more simple items to help with cooking, hot pads, pasta bowl, cheese grater and wine glasses. Also be prepared to buy your own dish washing soap,. There was only one dish towel and no dish rag so we bought our own sponges and paper towels. Other than that the hose was a wonderful find.

Wonderful house

Melodia House was so perfect for us. We were there Easter week for our son's wedding in Amalfi. The house is just as pictured on VRBO. The beds were all comfortable, bathrooms spacious and kitchen well stocked with dishes and cookware. The view from the front balcony is so breathtaking! We also enjoyed fireworks the Saturday night before Easter. The market at the bottom of the stairs is so handy. The house is also in such a great location to catch the bus or walk anywhere. Domenico met us at check in and gave us so much good information on transportation and where to eat. He was also very helpful during our stay with some last minute transportation to the wedding. We cannot wait to go back to Praiano and would definitely stay at Melodia House again. Thank you so much!

Absolutely breathtaking views, great location, and the most amazing host!

We had a wonderful stay at this incredible property! Our host, Rosita, met us at the villa and we instantly had a connection with her! She made us feel SO welcome from the first moment and she spent a great deal of time giving us a wealth of information and suggestions! She kept in daily contact with us and we now feel like we have an amazing new friend for life in Praiano! The villa itself was the perfect place to start the day and end the day with its breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast! The terrace was our go-to spot to just sit and enjoy our amazing surroundings with a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine watching the sunset! The pictures shown on the VRBO website are completely accurate and show the beauty and comfort this property truly offers. There are 80 steps to climb to get to the villa but once you get to the top it’s worth the steps! We arranged for a porter to carry our bags up when we arrived and then down for us when we left! The location is more than perfect with easy access to the local bus stop and Maria’s Market .. and, Praiano is away from the busier towns on the coast and offers a quieter retreat after busy days of sightseeing and shopping! The people we met on our stay in Praiano are, without a doubt, some of the nicest people you will ever meet! There is nowhere we would have rather stayed! Amalfi Coast perfection in Praiano

This was our first trip to Italy and a bucket list trip. Melodia is the perfect villa. The views from the terrace are breathtaking. Praiano is such a lovely small town that lets you live like a local. The people are so kind from the market, to the restaurants to our local neighbors. The villa is perfectly equipped and we loved waking to the church bells of San Lucas Evangelista. We did day trips to Positano, Ravello and Sorrento. We shopped at the local market at the bottom of the steps and ate & drank in most of the restaurants. Kasai is wonderful! You can eat & drink all you want as long as you walk to & fro! Thank you for having us -- it was the perfect week in the Amalfi coast.

Great location!

Praiano is a great location - away from the busy busy town of Positano. This house is in a good location to go to City Center or beach. Having the mini market at the base of the steps to the rental was so helpful. Be prepared with bug repellent for evening porch sitting.

We were a group of 6, in Praiano during the off season, in February. While the weather was not ideal, 4 of our group were outdoor enthusiasts doing rock climbing and hiking and Praiano was an ideal base for those activities. We drove them to Positano for rock climbing, and they were able to access the Path of the Gods from the apartment (after climbing 1900 steps to get to the path) for hiking. We used the apartment as a base for day trips to Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Paestum, all of which we drove to. The downside of renting in the off season is that many businesses were closed for the season. We only found 1 restaurant that was open, so most meals were cooked in the apartment, which was adequately stocked with pots, pans, and cooking utensils. And there was no shortage of food options, from the small grocery downstairs from the apartment, to a larger grocery down the hill, and a butcher shop and fish store further down in the town. The 3-bedroom, 2 bath arrangement was perfect for 3 couples. There was no shortage of hot water for showers. The seating was comfortable and there was adequate heat for the slightly chilly temperatures. The view from the apartment was great, and had we been there during a different time of the year, we would have enjoyed the front patio and the patio off one of the upstairs bedrooms. The wi-fi was good. Communication and coordination with management was good, using e-mail, WhatsApp, and the phone. Domenico, Luisa, and Teresa were all very helpful and responsive. We were met at the apartment by Teresa, who guided us to the apartment and toured the apartment with us. We had a rental car, but there isn't really anyplace to park near the apartment. Teresa guided us to available free parking on a street higher up in the town and we were always able to secure a free parking space, although it should be noted that it was a 5-minute uphill walk to get to the parked car from the apartment, so you need to be willing, able, and prepared to do that. One of us went up to get the car and bring it down to pick up the rest. If you have mobility issues, this is probably not the place for you. There are a lot of stairs from the street to the apartment, and Praiano is a hill town...you're going to be climbing a lot of stairs and doing a lot of uphill walking. There is, however, a local bus that does stop by the apartment regularly.

Great location and wonderful stay!

The view is just as shown - breath taking. 3 girlfriends went to the Amalfi coast for a trip of a life time. We rented this house in Praiano and didn't even realize how perfect this location really is. It is in-between Amalfi and Positano. We were able to take local bus and city bus in either direction. We also enjoy a water taxi between the towns and hired a car to see Ravello and other sites. There is a market right down stairs that has amazing produce and all of the basics you need. You are walking distance to tons of great restaurants and bars. (if you are in shape) There are a LOT of stairs - everywhere! You are staying cliff side so expect to climb. I loved it! The house itself was nice. 3 bedrooms all with amazing views. 2 bathrooms - european standard. I did like the bidet and wished I could bring that home with me. Adequate furnishings. I was ready for my own bed by day 5 :) There is no american coffee pot so I had to google how to use the European one - interesting. Dominick came by and gave us great local knowledge which was very helpful. Overall we had an amazing stay and I would highly recommend this location and property.
