Great place in Princeville

This was a great place to stay up North. The place itself is spacious and has everything you need. The beds (both the master and pull out) were very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and the pool was great for our kid. The walk to the beach is beautiful but you can call for a ride down there if it is too far for you. We would definitely stay here again.

Paradise!

This was our second visit to the island and second time staying at the Hanalei Bay Resort. This condo was absolutely beautiful and the views from the lanei’s were absolutely stunning. Booking this unit with Jeff was the best experience we’ve ever had and he always went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Can’t wait to go back.

Mountain views

Beautiful grounds, nice beach with shade trees when desired, staff available for rides up and down steep path to beach. Loved sitting in bed in the morning looking out at the mountains and waterfall.

Perfect Spot in Kauai!!

Hanalei Bay Resort is a great place to stay on the North Shore and this condo is First Class all the way! The views are incredible!! We originally rented this condo on 2015 when my now husband proposed and this latest trip (April 5, 2024) we got married on Pu’u Poa beach (walking distance from the condo down the trail). It was perfect! Even with the rain! We definitely will be back!

Amazing stay

Place was just as described. We spent a week in Kauai and one of my favorite memories will be sitting on the lanai drinking coffee looking at that view. Would definitely stay again

Beautiful, well-equipped, but too noisy for us

We enjoyed our first stay at HBR in Jeff’s condo (located in Heliconia-15). Jeff is a thoughtful host who has beautifully furnished this condo with comfortable furniture, old-Hawai’i inspired decor, and nice patio sets. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking our own meals. The king size bed was firm and supportive, and there were lots of pillows and blankets available. The pros of being in Heliconia-15 are: close to parking lot, main building, pools, and grilling station. This unit is also is a top-floor, corner unit with views of the Na Pali mountains. The view of the jungle from the lanais was stunning. Despite all this, the cons of this location would prevent us from staying in Heliconia-15 again. It is immediately behind the main building where a massive HVAC system provides a constant thrumming sound. The flurry of golf carts coming to/from the service area adjacent to the HVAC meant that noise was ongoing and reduced the privacy of this unit. Finally, a single ramp provides level-entry to Heliconia-15 and this unit is the first one, so everyone coming to/from this block walks past this unit. The thumping from foot falls are audible in the bedroom while trying to sleep. We are still giving 5 stars because this is not within Jeff’s control, and every block in HBR has pros and cons - you just have to find what’s right for your family. Jeff is an amazing host and we would gladly stay with him again in another one of his properties. Mahalo!

Love this Condo!!!

This condo has it all! It truly felt like paradise and had ALL the comforts of home. The views from the deck are magnificent and mesmerizing with the lush tropical landscape and mountains and even a waterfall! The condo has only the finest quality furniture and decor which was beautiful. We cooked several meals and the kitchen was well equipped. We were able to relax which is a good thing as the bed and furnishings were comfortable and new. HBR resort itself is very beautiful. It is well located and easy to park close by as I had some mobility issues and felt it was accessible and safe. We would definitely look forward to another stay at this condo if we return to Kauai and give it two thumbs up for anyone wanting a great place to stay! Mahalo Jeff for having a lovely VRBO to share on this beautiful island. We enjoyed our stay very much, can you tell? We only wish we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful property

My family of 4 traveled to Kauai this past July. We could not have been more pleased with the property. The pictures do not do it justice. The condo itself was beautiful and had the most majestic view of the mountains and waterfalls. The resort amenities were spectacular. We only wish we would have stayed longer than 2 nights. Can’t recommend enough.

Very Special Place In North Kauai

When I reserved this property it looked very nice, but I was still surprised upon arriving at what a spectacular property this is. The lodging was spacious and comfortable. Beautifully furnished. The bathrooms were lavishly supplied. The kitchen was supplied with anything you need to cook there. Nothing was spared. There was a washer/dryer. Two lanais, the one from the bedroom with lounges, the living room with a high top table with four chairs. Each morning we enjoyed coffee and drinks in the evening viewing rain forest, jagged misty mountains and waterfalls with birds singing wildly. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Everything you need for the beach is provided.The resort was first class with a nice restaurant, spectacular pool and short, though steep, walk to the beach. It is a short drive to Hanalei and cafes and shops. This place is fabulous and I cannot imagine a better place for a stay in Kauai.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views from the lanai were breathtaking. Also highly recommend a walk down to the beach at sunset as well as dining at the Happy Talk. Can’t wait to return.

Better Than We Expected

This place is so beautiful! The condo has everything you might need for a perfect vacation. The unit is way more spacious than expected; with vaulted ceilings, two great sized bathrooms, and comfortable lanais. Jeff is a great host and always available if we had any questions about our stay or recommendations. The area is spectacular, pool is nearby, parking close by, and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on. Jeff has done it all to make this a stay we will never forget.

Simply paradise!

This is a beautiful, beautiful place to stay. We came to celebrate retirement and every day was wonderful. The condo was lovely, had everything we needed and Jeff is a great host. We spent a fair amount of time on the lanai enjoying the view of the mountain waterfalls, changing clouds and rainbows, etc. in addition to going down to the beach with the beach chairs and lounging. If you are a birdwatcher and can fit in some binoculars, it would be worth it as birds flit around in the tree tops off the lanai. In the bookcase, there is an interesting book on the history of Hanalei in addition to other helpful info about the area. In the evenings we watched the beautiful sunsets from the lawn area with the gas fire pit and also enjoyed a nice dinner and some tasty Lava Flows at the Happy Talk Lounge. Our Hawaii trip also took us to other islands, but this was by far the best and our favorite.

Perfection

We were celebrating our 20 yrs wedding anniversary so we wanted some place special. This place exceeded all expectations. By far, the nicest place we’ve ever stayed in all our travels. The bed was so comfortable. My husband has a bad back so a comfy bed is top priority. The water pressure was excellent. The condo was super clean; We could walk around barefoot. The view was unreal. We could not believe our eyes. The mountains were spectacular. We could even see a waterfall coming down the mountains. The resort is lovely. The lava rock hot tub was beautiful. The beach was gorgeous and you can snorkel right off the beach. We didn’t travel to any other beach! The lava flows at Happy Talk bar and restaurant were delicious and the pizza at Wiki Pizza was a huge hit with our kids. The condo was perfect for our family of four. Two full bathrooms and a washer and dryer were such a bonus. The condo had such high quality furniture and finishes. The location was perfect, right by the pool and parking. We didn’t have to lug our suitcases up any flights of stairs. It truly was paradise. Less than a 10 min drive from the grocery store in Princeville and 15 min from Hanalei. Be sure to eat at Wake Up Delicious in Hanalei. The Kalua pork burrito and macadamia nut latte were amazing. The pull-out couch had a memory foam mattress! The high ceilings and AC really put this place over the top. It is perfection! This condo was perfect for hiking the Kalalau trail, and kayaking and snorkeling!
