I am deeply speechless about this experience because my bath room EXPLODED!! Around 9am, I was awake at that time videoing with my boyfriend. But I suddenly heard a loud noise and I thought there had been some kind of attack. I turned on the light and realised it was the glass door to my bathroom that had exploded. I was really shocked and it was the first time I had ever experienced anything like that. What really scared me was that after I woke up and before the door exploded, I actually considered going to the bathroom to take a shower. I checked the news afterwards and there had been people who had been badly cut by exploding glass doors while showering in different hotels. I can't imagine what the consequences would have been if I had gone to take a shower at that time. The hotel did not offer any compensation, they just switched me to another room of the same type. There was also no apology from the staff. This type of glass has a certain chance of spontaneous explosion, but if the hotel had applied blast-proof film to the glass, this would not have happened. In addition to this, staff entered my room directly without knocking twice because the information was not up to date. Fire drills were also not notified in advance. Really a very bad experience.

This stay was honestly an utter nightmare, The manager was very kind I will say that- but prior to arriving, we had a request and called ahead to ensure they could accommodate severe asthma and allergies (I have a rare condition called MCAS that causes idiopathic allergic reactions and a huge trigger is fragrance), so asked if the room could be fragrance free. I understand it will usually be in other areas. The room itself was so scented I had to wear a mask even sleeping. We were then informed by the manager that the air vents/HVAC has added fragrance and he turned it off- very thoughtful, just unfortunately too late. I am now in a horrible flare up and will have to be on steroids for not even sure how long. I am fully aware my allergies and condition is MY responsibility, and don’t expect places to roll out the red carpet- but I DO expect honesty. Don’t tell me “your room will not have any scent” if you don’t know that, I would’ve booked somewhere else. Absolutely insane. I was not even here for vacation, I was here for Duke health to see my specialist. My allergies and reactions are so severe I have to carry an epi on me, and it’s ridiculous that these hotels aren’t just honest. The room was so ridiculously scented that I had to use my inhaler practically every hour, not even just a little bit of scent. Just be honest next time and save people suffering, good God.

Staff at check-in was extremely rude and disinterested , not helpful with parking. Loud clicking noise in the room all night long. Slow service during breakfast. Manager Jean Garner was not helpful and unwilling to help with issues since it was booked through Expedia. When told about complaints, we were notified that there is no manager available on weekend and to contact this Jean person on Monday. Avoid this property at all cost!
